He was in my explore page and it looks good and he seems to have knowledge on black skin.

My have a regimen that has been slowly lightening up my hyperpigmenation but the key word is SLOW.

It was this video that convinced me. (Ig TV so idk if it will post on lsa)

Any Atlanta fonts went to him?

Eta: the comments say it $750

Let $AMC pop of, I'm getting it :arrogant

when getting a peel you want to ask the ingredients, even if it's an allegedly proprietary formula they should share it with clients.

now that said, I go to one of the best dermatologist in DC and she doesn't charge $750! She's $300

Also, I think there are other treatments or products used to attain the afters, particularly with the lady in the last pic

Where do you live? Perhaps other fonts have recommendations on Estis close to you.

I'm in the DC area if you need recommendations
South jersey. Philly would be the closest to me that has black people

But I just moved here and don't know anything about good skin care spots

I'm just scared of bruninf mt skin off. I would go to Atlanta to have him do it not get the kit.

You are better off doing it yourself with MUAC. Just send them pictures of your skin and they will help you. They will help you start slow.

He is probably just using their products. They sell stuff white label.

Beyond that, you are better off going to a derm with a good esthetician in his office.

When I go to my Derms office I never see another person of color when I am in there but, they have got my skin right and treated me so nice over the years.

I really don't trust these people on Social Media marketing themselves to Black people. They all over charge. They are taking advantage of lack off access to healthcare and ignorance in the black community and charging a black tax on top of it.

Why should I pay extra to someone from IG, when I can go to the Derm, use my insurance and a FSA or HSA card for some of the costs?

Even beyond that, the Doctor visits to my derm are lost cost. He doesn't make money on the visit costs he makes money on the extras he sells. Anyone could afford to go see him and pay out of pocket. An office visit is less than $100. He is a very popular Derm in an expensive area and he is paid.

I would not have someone on IG working on my face ... let's see the yelp reviews. Let's see some licensing.

Girl this is your face ... I would go to a derm or esthetician. Don't play yourself.

I wouldn't discount IG, my Esti and Derm are on IG, both are licensed.

It's just another form a advertising.. for free!

I doubt your derm and esti is charging 750 tho. There is something about IG and overcharging and less than professional behavior.

Yours is actually expensive af ... I live in NYC and my friend's black esti ain't even that much.

My derm takes my insurance and chemical peels are covered. OP see what your insurance covers because I do mine myself but sometimes go to the doc for a series ...since it's covered by my insurance.

THIS ALL DAY!!!

Reminds me of this lady, or UrbanSkinRX. The company was founded BY a black woman and something happened along the way, she's no longer with the company and now this non-black woman is listed as the owner. She has a known issue of saying slick sh!t to black women and even trademarked the name 'melanin expert'... chile

I don't consider mine expensive AF and that's cool. The peel I get, she only does 2 times a year.

But I do know that 750 is crazy!!!!

Pore star uses Reve peel and was ousted by them because he’s been lying about the peel being custom, not giving proper follow up care, etc. If you go to Revepeels IG post from 2/28 they talk a bit about the situation.

Ellemes spa in Atlanta is a great! She’s licensed professional and knowledgeable about black skin. She has 20+ years experience in the field and doesn’t charge 750 for a damn chemical peel lol

Oh wow lmao I had a HORRIBLE experience with this guy. I’m glad he’s getting ate up. First off I booked (and paid he charged my cc for the full facial balance of $350 before servicing me - red flag #1) my appt like 2 months in advance. I got there on time but he was a whole hour LATE. He’s located in an actual doctor’s office so I let it slide. Anyway he walks in late asf and then basically tried to pressure me into getting his bµllsh!t ass chemical peel. I don’t have bad skin at all and intuitively did not trust him to do a peel because he was just trying to get more money out of me. Plus a good esthetician is going to want a consult & tell you how to prep your skin for a few wks before doing such an invasive treatment. I was also going on vacation in a couple days so what I look like getting a peel when I booked a basic ass facial???? Anyway he basically was not tryna do a facial and told me to come back in a couple wks for a peel. I was so fckn pissed because why have it on your list of services? I ate him up on his review! Btw his asst came into the room after he bullshitted me and ask that I leave a good review. I didn’t even get serviced so how imma review y’all? That’s the LAST time I went to anyone off IG based in Atlanta. I disputed the charge with my bank and everything because I never went back for his peel & told him to cancel the future appt. St Regis spa me tf up.

If anybody is still looking for a black facialist, Muse Maven in Midtown is it. Very professional, no upcharging, etc. She also has some of the best microneedling prices I've seen. She'll get you right.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I've been thinking about going to him for almost a year, but my gut feeling would not allow me to book. He seems to preying on black women, he needs to be exposed!

Also for after care it is basically using retinol cream day & night for 30 days.

I actually did this treatment with him and as other mentioned customer service was horrible.
I live outside of Atl so he shipped the peel home to me, I was supposed to have a consultation prior to placing the order but he kept rescheduling so the assistant told my place it and once I receive it it to reach out and we would do a live video call for the application. That never happened. Also my kit came with no sun screen in which I informed them and they said it was manufacturing issue.

After applying the peel, the next day my face was completely swollen and boyfriend actually wanted to take me to ER. I reached out asking to speak with Porestar but instead got front desk. He told me that it was normal and to stick regimen which I did. I got the same result as posted on his ig but my skin was dehydrated and needed a hydrating facial and blotchy for couple of days after the regimen.

Perfect Derma Peel is a good alternative for those interested and more cost effective. I have also received great results from this
