Is anyone planning to or has watched the docuseries Pride on Hulu yet? I'm excited for a good documentary on the community with a wide variety of lgbt voices, not just the prominent folks who where there.

I'm going to settle in this morning and watch but I'd like to discuss! Please feel free to drop your thoughts!

I thought this was going to be aired on FX specifically. I definitely wanna check this series out. It looks like it will be good.

Not lgbt but I watched the first hour so far. They showed how lgbt people lived their own lives just away from the general population, including military men. They had video and photos. I was shocked that there were black soldiers included in the photos they had. Cops going the extra mile (buck naked) to charge gay men with solicitation. I mean, they hired 600 cops to do this. I think it was in New York (most likely). Insanity.

I plan to watch the other parts at some point. I watched it on one of those channels that shows crime docs all the time.

So far I'm pretty disturbed by how fondly Madeline Triess (through old footage and the reanactor)and her brother are looking back on inappropriate relationships with fondness. A teacher angry at finding the student she's abusing in bed with a girl her age? Her brother laughing about adult gay men taking him home at 13 years old? YIKES. Where's the reflection about how that's not okay?

I was surprised at that, too. Like, hello.

The series picks up once they stop focusing exclusively on the yTs. Episode 2 is much more engaging and I learned more about Bayard Rustin. They really underline his tactical thinking and organizational skills. And how the March on Washington hinged on this.
