Hospitals deal with VIP situations all the time. They have always found a way to do it without turning people away, because they ahve to. It's a security issue.
How many VIPs do you think these small hospitals deal with on a regular basis? I'm sure Moline wasn't expecting Prince to show up in their ER that night. And he wasn't turned away.

People in poor rural communities can't afford to be idealistic about their healthcare. Regardless of moods. They go where treatment is readily available.
Moline isn't poor and is a suburb with nice schools and single family homes. If it is the closest/a chosen hospital to an airport there should be every need available.

Generally speaking, people in health care are crazy. they have absolutely NO relationship tools and will control you and treat you like shite if they think they can. So yes, never go to the doctor OR a dentist alone. ESP if you are non-white, poor or have medicare/medicaid. People are predators and very sick.

I did a mock jury once. The family of a patient was seeing if there was potential for a lawsuit.

Their mother/grandmother/aunt had a suicide attempt and was sent to a major, VERY well-respected teaching hospital where they gave her ECT (shock treatments) as a first line therapy. She died later of complications from it.

She was Mexican, spoke NO English and had no family here.

I just had this feeling, KNOWING what EYE had been through (not with ECT but other things)... But I had been given the opportunity of recovery.

As they read the info to us, they said, "[The hospital] was training new residents in ECT during those two weeks." No one in the room batted an eyelash. I said, "Excuse me. Would you please read that sentence again?" Everyone in the room still sided with the hospital.

At the end I voted "Guilty". My only regret is that when they asked us what the payment should be to the family, I was not courageous enough to say, "How much is YOUR mother's life worth?"

I was speaking in general, as a response to what you said about him not wanting them to mess with his body. Prince was not a doctor, even though he thought he knew what was best for his body, professionals are still professionals.

I think it would've been good if they could've contacted an addiction specialist. Someone who could
tell him, "Narcain will leave you very susceptible to another OD."

Hopefully hospitals have on-hand support like that now.

Also the overall thing for me, is that Prince for some reason did not go to a 12-step program. His situation though was, I think, mostly a physical addiction. So he might've not considered it. I wonder if he ever explored it, late at night on his computer. Who knows? He might've been on an online recover forum.

Nurses meet worried and anxious patients and their family members with phucken CONTROL.
Have I made it clear how I feel about these people??
It's rare that you will find a thoroughly compassionate one.

Boy. Sorry for freaking out on nurses here.

Anyway, this is the Jehovah's Witness' Kingdom Hall in Chanhassen where Prince's friends and family had a beautiful service for him. I just came across this and think it's a beautiful building. (T

his was taken on the day of the service. Courtesy: Star Tribune.)
