Why is it racist when I say I want to make an all-black cartoon show? Whenever I mention that black ppl be like "oh you can't do that." or "people are going to think your racist." I always ask how because white shows always have white characters and black/nonblack side characters but you will see mostly white ppl. Either way, I will still make my all-black cartoon show but what do yall think?

I think that somewhere there is a white person saying:

Isn’t Craig of the Creek On Cartoon Network a predominantly Black cartoon? Go check that out. I think the feedback you’re getting is misinformed. Make your cartoon.

It's not racist. You just have certain Black People who feel as though you'll always have to conform to a certain standard to get ahead. You don't need to do that. Dream big and create that cartoon you want to create. Ignore the background noise.

Girl just ignore them. I was binge watching The Cleveland show this weekend and as bad as the first seasons were, I really enjoy watching darker skin people on my screen.

I wish we had more predominantly black shows in general.

A mix. There’s lots of meaningful scenes with his family with depictions of very Black culture/specific images like his dad wearing a Howard sweatshirt but there’s also scenes with the main character interacting with his friends in the neighborhood.
Overall, it’s the closest thing that’s currently available that is a Black cartoon (for kids) and shows that there is a market for it so don’t be discouraged by the opinions of others

Who’s saying that? Like I’ve never heard a black person say that! There’s nothing wrong with making a predominately black or all black cartoon show.

Craig of the creek was written by a bunch of dainty black men and white folks. The older sister is a d-ke with a fat white girlfriend.

I mean to be fair, there's a difference between an all-Black cartoon and a predominantly Black cartoon. That said, I loved The Boondocks and The Proud Family, and I wish that there were more good cartoons like those these days.

Idgaf if they think it's racist. Make your cartoon/anime. They make theirs predominantly their race. It would be weird for you to not do so yourself.

Some people be on some other stuff:

Yeah, I was going to say this. It's no Proud Family or Boondocks.

The creators/producers do get a lot of the surface level stuff right (I.E. Character Design, Voice Actors, etc.), but when you take the time to actually watch the show, you can quickly tell it's written by white people who've never actually spent time around black people because you see so much stuff going on that black kids would never do and black parents would never tolerate.

These are the creators and producers, BTW:

It's unfortunate too, because adjacent to Craig of the Creek, Cartoon Network also gave the green light around the same time for an "all-hispanic" show and its creators / producers are all Hispanic.

And a producer whose name is Abraham Lopez
