I’m so excited for her and can’t wait to listen!
This will be the official listening thread.
cool, but she knows people want to know about her marriage
She actually spoke about it on the recent episode of Amanda Seales’ podcast that she was on.
She's in the top 10 for podcasts on Apple. Did anyone listen to the first episode?
Listened to her review of Becoming and it was interesting to hear someone have similar reactions to things that stood out to me in the book. Always liked Demetria, she can overplay the bougie card at times but overall i like her and the podcastShe's in the top 10 for podcasts on Apple. Did anyone listen to the first episode?
I absolutely hate the name of this podcast. The word rachet is overplayed and dated.
She spoke about the title in episode 4. She says it encompasses all parts of women instead of pitting one against the other. Says a woman can be both and it’s not in reference to her, per se.
I have been. I usually don't care for shows with a solo host, but I've been enjoying hers so far.Anyone been listening?
Yeah I haven't been a fan of the guests. She had two flop episodes. Both of which had a guest. Other than those two, I’ve enjoyed the podcast.

I go back and forth with her. I want to like her because I loved ABIB blog. But she seems like a pretentious know it all. I also dont find her interesting nor entertaining on the podcast.
She moved to LA to pursue her dream of executive producing and she's renting her dream loft. I'm proud of her.
I liked her ABIB blog...at first. After a while, she sounded extremely pretentious and preachy. She loved to dole out advice on what everyone should be doing, how they should be living, etc. all the while neglecting o mention that she was extremely privileged and that her parents helped her A LOT. On BS&H she came off as a brazen social climber, uptight. pretentious and unrelatable.
I'm surprised at this, but not entirely. She did mention some time ago that all of her friends had moved to LA. I thought she despised LA since I remember her writing years ago that the men weren't fawning all over her and that she felt fat the entire time.
I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on with her speaking cadence, is she reading from a script? It’s just comes off as robotic. That’s not her regular speaking cadence, right?
So far I’ve like the episodes without the interviews, she’s shooting too far out her range and the guests are, in all sincerity and no shade, the boring academic types. She’s trying to have cultural critique vibe like Still Processing, but that’s not her lane.

I think she is reading also when she is talking she doesn't speak like that.
I also think her audience is maybe for an older crowd that is kinda removed from pop culture. The folks that mostly use facebook and not twitter and only use instagram to follow their family members type of folks. My mom is in her 60's and I can see my mom enjoying her more than I do, although I do enjoy listening to a lot of her stuff and her opinions are like bleh to me but I figure its because I am not part of her core audience.
I kinda saw her talk back that lil thing she said about Lauren London and I was like yea girl you know you meant something else which I thought was funny cause I thought she married a single father.
