I'm about 4 months post and plan to touch up this weekend. I feel like a failure, though. I usually braid during stretches to maximize growth but I didn't this time. So to me, I feel like I wasted 4 months. Does anyone else ever feel like this?
Sretching actually isn't necessary to experience growth. Your hair is still gonna have new growth wether or not you relax 6 weeks post or twice a year. Stretching just prevents overprocessing which equals better length retention.I'm about 4 months post and plan to touch up this weekend. I feel like a failure, though. Not anymore than fµck!ng with dirty dick aint sh!t men. Not anymore than a terrible fast food diet, smoking cigarettes, excessive stress, poverty, excessive alcohol, and a plethora of other things many black women engage in. So imma need naturals to stop acting like not getting a relaxer is a golden ticket to health. Applying a perm 3-4 times a year isnt going to kill me faster than daily unhealthy habits. PeriodtGet off of the creamy crack!! That sh!t messed with your reproductive system!!
I don't stretch my relaxers for ME its unnecessary and the few times I've tried stretching I I experience tons of shedding and breakage at the demarcation line. So I relax every 8 weeks
I follow her regime btw
I just got a pixie cut. What do you use for moisture?6 weeks post relaxer, not sure when I'm relaxing, have a pixie cut, currently in need of an edge up.
I use Mizani hairdress, I also put a little glycerin in the container. I'm working remote, so I'm not pressed to keep my hair looking styled all the time.I just got a pixie cut. What do you use for moisture?
Yea I was relaxed then natural for a few years then switched to texlaxed. I prefer in between .. more manageable but not stick straight. My hair seems to like natural and texlaxed but I’m able to take better care of it texlaxed so it grows longer in this state.I’m currently 14 weeks post relaxer and don’t think I’m going back. My plan is to go natural, but who knows I may eventually end up relaxing again.
I’m not familiar with being texlaxed. Is this the same as a texture release?Yea I was relaxed then natural for a few years then switched to texlaxed. It’s just not leaving the relaxer in long so u maintain some texture. I Also usually don’t comb thru just apply it and then rinse outI’m not familiar with being texlaxed. Is this the same as a texture release?
Which Olaplex did you use? I have 3 and just got 7.I did the longest stretch ever (37 weeks) and got a touch up yesterday. Olaplex allowed me to stretch for so long with very little shedding/breakage and my hair post relaxer is so thick, healthy and strong.

How did you style hair during the stretch?
What made you wanted to stretch for so long??I have and use 0 and 3, sometimes I use 3 by itself when I’m pressed for time. I also used a SM Manuka Honey hair mask for 1 hr min each wash day. Air dry, moisturize and seal with oil before getting my cornrows redon
I wore closure wigs with my hair cornrowed underneath (12 braids, professionally done). I would get it redone every 4-5 weeks. I would grease and massage my scalp/edges weekly with Kreyol Essence castor oil with a sprinkle of rosemary oil.

I have SM manuka honey shampoo and conditioner. I was thinking of getting the mask too but I think I'll add some oils in the conditioner and use it as a mask for now.
I'm 12 weeks post not sure when I'll relax again though (maybe beginning November)
