Guys I don't think we fully appreciate rihanna the artist the various topics that she covered on her songs and her creative and innovative music videos the songs that really stood out for me are S&M Te amo and Man down I mean the music videos really match the songs and she really went there she didn't downplay anything and she was not even yet 25 at that time 10 years later I'm still shook

Ps rihanna and yahya abdul mateen ll are the only two artists who actually push the envelope with their art I'm talking about the get down watchman candyman and the black mirror just to name a few he also didn't downplay anything he went there

Yes I agree. I love Rihanna’s work. I actually had a whole rihanna thon on YouTube last night. Most of her Songs do not sound outdated at all. I think it’s because she’s always ahead of the curve sonically. I really believe if she released bbhmm now it would’ve went #1

I was playing the instrumental to a bunch of her songs, & BBHMM was one of them. It was amazing, to say the least

What genre hasn’t she covered? Her catalog is so diverse. And what’s funny is Rihanna was able to convincingly move through genres despite having a strong accent. Many times when artists attempt this they sound corny, no matter how well they might sing, they don’t sound convincing. But I’m never like oh that’s Rihanna trying to rap, or that’s Rihanna trying EDM. She really does move through it all with conviction.

And since we are here any guesses on the genre for her second album that’s supposed to drop with, or after, the reggae album? I’m hoping for something Rock/Blues infused, something edgy/sexy and sophisticated.

I was thinking the same thing even with a bit of jazz I mean Anti showed us she can actually do it

And they do so well. It’s amazing how others can collab with the same exact people yet the songs go nowhere but you put Rihanna on and its a hit. Which is why I never understand why some insist on giving credit to everyone but her, I’m like but didn’t so and so work with that same writer, that same producer, that same artist, so why is the Rihanna result so different? What’s missing, oh I know, Rihanna.

It didn’t get its due, BBHMM was a whole ass movie. That’s what I loved about it, it actually told a story. people really don’t do that with videos anymore. They spend millions on videos that totally lack a storyline.

Most definitely!! My brain naturally says "Rihanna featuring" rather than the other way around, especially with Live Your Life, LTWYL part 1 & Monster

She gave both drake and Calvin Harris their 1st #1s back to back her S&M remix with britney spears was #1 on billboard charts imagine a whole remix at number 1 and she has tons of artists from all genres wanting to collaborate with her heck even movie directors and actors wants to collaborate with her

Rihanna is an amazing artist. Very versatile. She has a vision in everything she does and she pushes boundaries. She is a leader, not a follower that's why everything she does is fresh and inspiring..

I agree I love the fact that she was very versatile in every genre. I heard that her next album will be a reggae album. I’m here for that.
