Stop making movies about the same people. Lynn Whitfield played Ms. Baker in that HBO movie. Try get someone else's life story rights.

All they do is do what’s already been done because they refuse to invest or hire African-American talent with authentic ideas.

Sorry, Ruth (whom I do like as an actress), but the definitive biopic already exists thanks to this iconic star-making performance

FYI, it turns 30 years old next month.

The end. Just go back and watch this.

I’m sorry, what happened to Ruth’s career. She went from an Oscar nominated performance right back to television and theatre. Someone has to have tea...

Then she was dating that man for years and...

Then people were saying she got that role in Br@d’s movie because she was doing something a little strange.

Interesting. I've noticed that there is an uptick in British actors playing traditionally American characters in Hollywood. Not just black American actors, but white American actors as well. Why are Bat Man and Spider Man being played by Brits when I bet there were plenty of white American actors who could've easily done the job? Not saying this is a bad thing, but why?

That said, Ruth Negga does resemble Josephine (in a more modern, conventionally attractive way) and she is a pretty good actress. good for her. I hope this is a good series.
Desperate to “make it” across the pond, I imagine

Lynn Whitfields performance is the gold standard but I'm open to see what they do with this, if we can get umpteen elvis and marilyn movies I'm good with more on josephine

Lynn was perfection. Only flaw it should have been a miniseries. Jo’s story was too complex and full for a standard biopic.

Ruth was really good as Shirley Bassey even tho the film itself was very rushed and poorly made. I agree a new film isn’t really needed and it certainly doesn’t need to made with a non ADOS actress. That’s a slap in the face to Josephine
