performing illegal breast augmentations in the back of the salon.
Harrison County Sheriffs Department has arrested the woman wanted in connection with performing illegal breast augmentations inside her Tyler beauty salon. Carmel Mitchelle Foster-Alexander, B/F, 07/01/1973, of Tyler, Texas who is the Owner of Queen Divas Hair Salon and Spa injected at least four victims with some kind of substance to augment their breasts.
One person, Sheena Bradford of Longview, was admitted to a hospital in critical condition.
Investigators say the investigation is ongoing and FDA criminal investigators have obtained samples of the liquid gel that was injected into the victims for testing.
On February 19, 2012 Tyler Police were contacted by family members of a victim who stated that she had a breast augmentation (by injection) procedure performed on both her breasts on February 15, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. The victim identified as Sheena Bradford, B/ F, 08-01/1985, of Longview Texas was admitted into a hospital in Longview on February 16, 2012 for severe chest pains. Bradfords condition has been listed as Critical at this time.
Tyler Investigators have determined that the procedure was conducted for a fee (wonder how much she charged) in a back room of Queen Divas Hair Salon and Spa, located at 102 E. Martin Luther King Street, in Tyler.
Investigators obtained a search warrant on this business to seek any evidence that may be related to this case and evidence was seized by Crime Scene Investigators. Investigators and Doctors are attempting to determine what type of substance or fluid was pumped into her chest cavity.
Upon further investigation, investigators determined that the suspect was responsible for this illegal procedure and obtained two arrest warrants for Alexander-Foster for Practicing Medicine in Violation of Subtitle, a third degree felony, for practicing medicine without a license, breast augmentation, and causing Sheena Bradford physical harm. The second warrant was issued for a procedure that Foster had conducted on Bradfords cousin about two weeks ago. That victim is identified as Kenya Sheppard, B/F, 10/29/1984, of Gladewater.
Police spokesman Donald Martin says Foster was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday after a tip led Harrison County sheriff's deputies to a rural house about 5 miles north of Marshall. She's booked in the Harrison County Jail in Marshall, awaiting return to Smith County. A police statement says Alexander-Foster is charged with two counts of practicing medicine without a license, but Martin says other injection recipients have come forward and more charges are possible. Bonds is set at $200,000.
Jail records list no attorney for Foster. -dead:
