But Selena DIDN'T "pass the torch"

That's why it's ridiculous! They wanna make her impact on non-Chicano Americans bigger than it was during that time
Bey probably was familiar with Selena being that she's from Texas. That's it. Most people only heard of her after her tragic murder. Beautiful girl though.

And I'm with the fonts who said this scene with Bey telling Tina to hush is unrealistic. We all know the time Tina slapped Bey. Plus, just going by Ms. Tina alone's facial expressions alone, you know that scene is ain't realistic.

I wanna hear out of Beyoncé’s mouth that this moment actually happened. We all loved Selena but I’ve never heard of a black artist being inspired by her.

Everyone knows Bey looked up to MJ and Tina Turner. Selena isn't a cornerstone in ADOS musical influence.

They should have left this scene on the cutting room floor. I don't know why other races want black people to look up to them so damn bad.

The fact that I didn't know WHAT this clip was about when I first saw it, but knew from Tina's wig alone that the grown lady was Ms.Tina, I knew it before I even seen beyonce's character.

When I saw it on twitter without context, I was like "IDK what this is but I just know by that wig, thats Ms. Tina Lawson" LMAO

Beyonce DID mention she admired Selena as well. She talked about Selena during her destiny child's days.

I am more annoyed they made Beyonce Biracial

How much you wanna bet this series left out Janet Jackson's and Donna Summer's impact on Selena? :disdain

I'm sure Beyonce liked Selena, but that scene was acting like she just saw MJ walking down the street. Not to mention the extra slow motion. I didn't even get to the fact that they may Bey and I'm guessing Solange biracial then turned Tina into Maria.

The whole series is a hot mess.
