I getting my hair braided soon and I'm trying to figure out what tyoe of twists I want. So, what's the difference between Senegalese, Marley, and Havana twists? I want something that looks full and long (preferably waist length). I'm leaning towards the Havana twists, but I don't know how I feel about paying $12.99'for each pack of hair. Thank you!

The hair used/the size of the twists. Senegalese twists are very small, the size of box braids if not smaller.Ive seen both marley hair and just regular straight braiding hair used.

Marley twists are medium sized, whereas a full senegalese install might be 150-200 twists, marley twists are more like 75-100. They,of course, use marley hair.

Havana twists are the largest, with maybe 25-50 twists. They use havana hair, which is said to be coilier and kinkier than marley hair.

I think Marley twists and Havana twists are the same thing, but it's really the hair you use and size. You use braiding hair for Senegalese twists and marley hair for Havana twists (or they have Havana hair) and Marley twists.

My Senegalese twists are always waist-length because I don't cut the hair, but I'm also short. My Havana twists are usually BSL to MBL. Also, you can find marley hair for about $5-10 at the beauty supply store.

13 dollars for a pack of hair? What? It's 4 dollars where I live.
I don't like senegalese twists because they look unrealistic. Marley twists look like your hair, esp if your braider knows how to twist it right.

Also you dont have to dip the hair, and when your hair grows out it looks like yours, unlike senegalese.

I get my marley twists in this color/size.

Only problem with marley twists is that some hair brands you get can itch. I get the jamaican twist brand and i really like it.

What type of hair is the best and softest to use for twists? Last time I got it done I used marley hair and it was too stiff for me.

Does anyone know which one of these are softer to use? Either the Marley or Havana hair? I want to do those crotchet braids and I saw that it's best to use the softest brand of hair.

I did Marley twists a few months ago and didn't like them. They were a little too "messy" for me so I went back to traditional box braids. And the marley hair is so rough, it wasn't good for my hair texture.

One thing I must say is my marley twists come loose at the roots very quickly. So it kinda defeats the purpose of a protective style having to redo the perimeter like every 2 weeks :wilt:
