I love the Golden Girls (currently binge watching now on Hulu) but xes and the City is the GOAT.

Golden Girls. I mean you can't even compare them.

As a teen xes and the city was fun to watch and interesting. As an adult, watching 4 women being promiscuous throughout New York does absolutely nothing for me. Golden girls, on the other hand, is always a good time. For all my life, ive been able to rewatch the episodes and laugh. Its very light hearted and just something i can be in the mood to watch no matter how im feeling.

Impossible for me to choose one or the other, so Imma go with Golden Girls is actually the SATC women of the future... maybe Mr. Big turned out to be some big-time criminal and the girls had to go into Witness Protection and hide under new identities for the rest of their lives LOL

I rewatched “The Holden Girls” several years ago.

They dealt with some issues on their show: xesual harassment, prescription pill addiction, elderly people actually having lives, that abominable flag, a woman who was xesually assertive and so on.

xes and the City dearth with dating in NYC. I think their groundbreaking character is Samantha Jones.

Samantha is a character that enjoys xes and is unapologetic about it. Whether people feel she’s a ho or not. She had xes on her terms because she wanted to.

Samantha thought highly of herself and wanted to enjoy her life on her terms. She didn’t have xes to. Please others. She had xes to please herself.

So, I will say it is “The Golden Girls”.

Golden Girls never went out of style. Like someone else mentioned already, SATC is dated and not as fun to watch as reruns of GG.

The question is a borderline insult. SATC was great but is already so dated. Golden Girls is forever.

This is key. Golden Girls is a 35 year old show but has yet to become dated. I remember when they use to make jokes about President H.W Bush's incompetence. Low and behold, watching this during President Bush's term, the same things rang true! They dealt with a lot of issues that are have maintained relevancy. Their young fan base is incomparable. What's scary is that as I grow older, they will probably become more and more of a reference when I actually reach the varying ages of senior citizens they were, 50s-80s. That's crazy.

I am old enough to have started watching GG at the tail end of it's original run (along with Empty Nest and Nurses, which did not last long), and I have happily watched as it enjoyed a renewed and continued popularity.

I enjoyed it when I was in single digit age and enjoy it even more when I'm firmly into my double digits. If that's not a testament to a show, I don't know what is.

Huh? 50's is senior citizens. I hope the good Lord allows me to see the 50's and beyond! I now know never to disrespect them like that. I now see why Blanche was so overprotective of her age.

Strange comparison but Golden Girls. Golden Girls is better than most TV shows imo. It's one of the top ten greats.

Golden Girls...its what I watch every night and first thing in the morning on the Hallmark channel. I've just started getting into it, but it's a funny show. I can even see how SATC mimicked some of the characters after GG. I liked SATC but it is dated now and it wasn't even close to being funny. GG is the goat.

Its no comparison but golden girls. Like someone said 2 different lanes and times.

But I can watch all the episodes of golden girls over and over and not get tired. I just didnt like the finale episode. Or the one where Dorothy tries to help a hippie get out of the house. Those were badly done.

But that season of when SJP was pregnant and she got the book deal and was dealing with Berger... Is a snooze for me. I skip it.

The Golden Girls is timeless. Those characters were the wise, lively and funny grandmas we wish we had.

SATC isn't in the same league. I would never want to hang out with Carrie and crew. Maybe one evening with Samantha, but that's it.

I said 50s for Blanche, who knew how old she really was.
