... and if you do, what do you prefer as a first cleanse?
Oil? A balm? Micellar water?

I use an oil, but I've been thinking about switching to a balm. Any recommendations? :D

I do. First with TO balm cleanser - it’s like an oil and then a creamy cleanser. I only do this because I wear sunscreen daily. I think it makes a difference. I do a water rinse in the morning.

I don't double cleanse - i honestly just wash my face with gentle soap and water and I've never had any issues. If i have a lot of makeup on, sometimes I'll use an oil to get it off. Olive oil is actually awesome for getting makeup off and it makes your skin super soft, but the smell might not be for everyone. I don't mind it because you wash it off right away and it's mild.

Sometimes. Mostly just use a cleansing balm and I have no problems doing that. Double cleansing can be drying for me but I do like using oil first to help my blackheads.

I used to double cleanse when I was wearing foundation but I don't wear makeup anymore and only use sunscreen so I stopped double cleansing.

I don’t really understand the concept, if you use an oil for example; do you lather your oil of choice on your face and wash it off like typical cleanser? Wouldn’t that clog your pores?

I do most of the time. I switch between oils and balms. Farmacy's balm is really nice. TO's squalane cleanser is also a really nice affordable option. I'm currently using dhc oil cleanser.

It ensures I get off all my makeup and sunscreen. The only time I don't is when I haven't worn sunscreen because I was in the house all day and couldn't be bothered lol.

My pores clog easily and I've been wearing makeup for work almost everyday for a couple years now. This cleansing routine makes sure I'm clean without being stripped.

I always suggest using an actual oil cleanser that is designed to emulsify with water and rinse off clean. Your second cleanse should get rid of any remaining residue.

I double cleanse at night and I do it when I'm wearing makeup or just feel like my skin's icky.

Usually, people follow up an oil cleanse with a regular cleanser.

I use makeup remover wipes, a balm, then micellar water, then oil cleanser, then regular cleanser followed by the rest of my skincare routine. I'm serious about getting every bit of that makeup off. I use korean oil cleanser mainly from skinfood.

Yes, in the evening.

Apparently face wash also doesn't necessarily take off SPF either not just makeup.

I used 2 different balms but I want to try the Hanskin PHA Oil next.

I do ONLY if I wear makeup. If I haven't like these past weeks, I only wash my face once. Yep! I use micellar water to clean my face twice a day then I use my Olehenriksen Dark Spot Toner (glycolic and lactic acids) then I use my Retin-A (at night only.)

I've had baddd hormonal acne for 7 yrs now and this what works for me now.

I double cleanse at night to really get my sunscreen off. I was using the DHC oil but I now use Albolene and I love it.

If I'm wearing makeup or sunscreen throughout the day, yeah.

I remove everything with baby oil or miceller water, then cleanse with a normal face wash before I apply my moistures. Otherwise it just feels gross to me.

I double cleanse mostly when wearing makeup but sometimes when I feel like it at night I will too.

I mostly use the DHC Cleansing Oil because it doesn't leave anyyyyy greasy or oily residue when I rinse it off and then follow up with my usual gel cleanser.

No offense at all, but if you need that many cleansers, your cleansers ain't working
You really shouldn't have to use more than two cleansers to remove every bit of makeup.
Get rid of the wipes and then chose a balm or a micellar water or an oil cleanser...

I use an oil cleanser when I wear makeup but if not, nah. The oil cleanser is more to bind with my foundation and take it off.

Nope, they work fine, I'm just paranoid as I had a really bad breakout, that left so many dark spots on my face that took years to clear up. My Korean friend showed me her steps and I now have flawless skin, so it works. The steps just insure, every bit of makeup comes off.

I only do it in the evening when I wear sunscreen during the day. Other than that, I do a regular cleanse.

The only time I double cleanse is when I wear makeup and the only time I wear makeup is when I go out to party or go to dinner or some outing. Haven't worn since last year for obv reasons.

On regular day to day I just use my cleanser and I use sponges. The same sponges the esthetician uses at the spa.

Honestly her routine sounded like irritation waiting to happen for me but everyone's skin is definitely different

Only when I wear my makeup, which is rare now. Since I've dry skin is fine to use a cleansing oil to remove the make up.

I'm using this one at the moment, which works great

Colorless Super Seed Cleansing Oil - Chia and Parsley Seed, 100ml | Votary | NET-A-PORTER

Followed by this cleanser, which is very gentle.

Colorless Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser, 200ml | Grown Alchemist | NET-A-PORTER

In the morning I prefer a foam cleanser.

Colorless Darker Skin Tones Foam Cleanser, 150ml | Dr. Barbara Sturm | NET-A-PORTER

In the evening only. I primarily do so to remove SPF or makeup. I prefer an oil cleanser.

I tried DHC, Shu Uemura and few cleansing balms which I didn't like and felt like they all left a film on my skin.

Then I discovered Super Facialist Cleansing Oil and never looked back. GOAT.

Eventually get rid of the wipes at least, too much friction which accelerate the ageing. Use a a cleansing brush instead, Foreo is great in that regard cause it's more gentle and can be used more often than regular ones with the brush head.

Regular Korean skincare products tend to have a more watered down composition, so more steps are needed.

Only at night b/c I wear sunscreen. Or if I happen to wear makeup. I use micellar water, then I use my face wash.

I find a good water based cleanser is all I need. A double cleanse is only really for heavy makeup or have put on a lot of layers on sunscreen.

At night, makeup or not, and I use castor oil.

I just started this routine recently, and my whiteheads (sebaceous filaments?) are already shrinking, and my skin is becoming less oily. (I’m doing a few other things too, though)

I double cleanse every night since I wear sunscreen. I use DHC cleansing oil. I definitely feel like products are able to penetrate deeper after the double cleanse.
