A gun on the hip. Not concealed. She did not tell you before hand. Her reasoning is she doesnt know you.
Would you let her do your hair?

What if you dont let her stay and she decides to keep your deposit?

I would be uneasy. I understand that she wants to keep herself safe since she is going inside a stranger's home but I would be uncomfortable thinking about whether or not the gun would accidentally go off or something. She should state that she is armed on her website though.

I'm so sick of these unprofessional beauty basement pros. Girl, get you a secured suite and sit your ass down.

And yet I though Apryl was ghetto selling bundles with her gun.

Nah that’s weird as hell, where they do that at? And she had the nerve to keep half of the deposit (she probably kept all of it honestly).

Think about what you just said...she wants to be safe going in strangers' homes. Make it make sense!!

This may be a generation below my life span...

Girl fµck you and Nina too! If she's concerned about her safety she needs to rent or buy a secured building and/or security!

Who is her target clientele that she feels the need to stay strapped?

My (pre-Covid) glam squad would never.

Idk if it’s that serious then rent an office space on a public strip and set up the spot there. We’re both strangers to each other, if you bringing a gun cause you think ima do some fck sh!t-im definitely thinking the same abt you

She's bringing a gun into someone else's home, that, to me, hits differently than bringing a gun into a business. You brought a gun into some else's private home, without their knowledge or approval.

I can't blame the client for being shocked and wanting to cancel. The client doesn't know the stylist either. How does the client guarantee their safety from someone who brought a weapon into their house?

They should refund the entire deposit, they didn't set this expectation up before hand.

Why exactly do people book with these bootleg nonstylists instead of real stylists with real salons? Especially those who want you to come with your head halfway done and charge more than people who have actual salons and do everything.

Yeah I’d be right in small claims court. Like I get wanting to protect yourself but like someone said what is your clientele where you feel unsafe to provide your service because you’re in their home? And then to have it exposed on your hip. Yikes.

You know.....it's stories like this that lead me to believe going bald was the best decision I ever made in terms of aesthetics.

First of all, I wouldn't be playing with anyone crazy enough to roll up in my house with a gun. And got the thing named too?

"You know what, Sis? On second thought, don't worry about it. I'll just put in these Celie-from-The-Color-Purple braids in for the superspreader club event I'm going to tomorrow. Don't worry about the deposit. It's all good. Sorry to have inconvenienced you, Nina, Nino, Brown, and the rest of them. Take care tho."

.....then I'd close the door mad quick, drop to the ground, and military crawl away from the door.

She think someone is going to just let her walk into their house with a gun? Just to do some hair?

She should have told the lady before hand

She has the right to carry but most people are going to be uneasy about you coming into their home with your firearm.

I understand where she’s coming from but if she’s worried about safety then she should probably do whatever she can do to get in a shop. Not for just her sake but for both parties.

I don’t think either party is wrong.

She doesn't have the right to carry a firearm in someone's private residence. Also if she feels so unsafe she (1) needs to establish a higher class clientele and/or (2) rent a booth in an actual salon, but we all know you can only do the latter if you're actually licensed.

These new stylists be like "You have to pay me $2,000 to wash, braid, and moisturize your own hair. And you have to do it at gunpoint."

She should notify people beforehand and let them decide. To just show up with a gun on your hip...? No fµck!n' ma'am.

Years ago I went to stylist who did late appointments (I was in there well past midnight sometimes). She kept the door locked after dark, and made it known that she kept a gun at arm's reach. This was something she told me the first time I made a late appointment.

Depending on what state she's in, could she get in trouble for that? I'm not a gun owner but I know different states have open carry vs concealed carry laws

Now I feel bad after listening to this Linda and Nina story judging Apryl. At least it was her place of business.

I hope this girl has both a hair and gun license...she just made herself hot HOT.

I can't believe people actually let her in before. Around their kids and family. Who knows anything about HER?

What if y'all get into a disagreement about your bundles in your HOUSE and YOU still owe her money? You think she's gonna be the customer is always right type? I just be thinking of too much.

Who after YOU?! LOL

I live in Georgia so I'm used to seeing guns. Don't understand why ol girl was scared. But I also don't see the harm in just putting it in your car... you should have a secondary knife anyway.

Jeebus what has the South done to me ...
