I'm tired ya'll....

Why do companies still come out with 8oz containers and charge so much? Luckily when my hair is saturated with water, I can work with less product and stretch the 8oz product but it'll only last another go and if I pray hard enough a third time!

I think all companies need to start coming out with 16oz of product instead of starting at 8oz. I'll pay double at this point because at least with 16oz, you can really stretch it but 8oz hardly leaves any room. Knowing some of these companies, they are going to charge 3x for a 16oz (looking at you Miche)!

To be fair, My qhemet biologics alma heavy cream is around 8oz. I got it last year at sound July or august and there's still quite a bit left in the jar now.

But I agree for the most part.

I use three types of products, which is why mine tend to last a little bit longer. I wish conditioner came in bigger bottles. I use damn near 3/4 of a 32oz bottle on my hair.

I specifically think about things we use a lot on our:

Deep conditioners - I can't get mad though since some of the ingredients on the deep conditioner drive up the cost (SOMETIMES)
Gels - Botanical Gels to be more specific

These 2 are the most naturals use up! Correct me if I'm wrong, I love discussions.
I'm trying to be less heavy handed

8oz bottles, water and the grace of God has made me less heavy handed. I started to use more water to distribute product and it's been such a god send.

Yup, especially if you have super thick hair... it's damn near impossible to not use up the bottle.

Camille Rose, we’re looking at you.

LOL. I'm looking at Miche Beauty on this one. I've been wanting to try their deep conditioners and leave-ins so bad but the price point went up and starts at $20 or up for an 8oz!!!! Luckily I found out that Soultanicals have the best deep conditioners on the market but I really want to try Miche's protein deep conditioner.

Timely as hell OP

I was just at Ulta and saw TGIN recently released enormous sized bottles of their leave in. I don’t use them anymore but was hyped for the extra large bottles

I use melanin Haircare - the bottles are big and I don’t have to use whole handfuls like I used to. I have high density low porosity hair though...Not sure if the products will work for everyone

As long as it's not conditioner, I've realized that actually 8 - 10 oz actually lasts me quite a few wash n go days.

Facts! They have the nerve to charge 18.99 for an 8oz bottle that's good for 2 uses at most. I'd like to venture out and explore new brands, but some these businesses are committing high way robbery.

I've learned not to be heavy handed anymore, adding water really stretches the hell out of these products sometimes.

I've gotten so good with usually less gel and more water for my wash and gos that my gels last at least two months each.

Girl say it,

Especially if you want to try a product and it doesn't work for it gets so annoying. The trial and error process really sucks the money out of you. That's why when I find a holy grail, I stick with it and don't buy anything. This year is the first time I have ventured out and bought gel that wasn't eco styler gel.

This and the unreliability of some brands in providing consistent service is the reason why I started putting together my own stuff. It is far better for me to spend a little bit of change on raw ingredients I know my hair will like and take the 5-10 minutes to blend it together for the month.

I don’t use drugstore line hair products.

For shampoo & conditioner, I only use salon products and I buy the 32-64oz jug with the pump.

just pay attn to what your salon uses and go buy the jug.

Lol I dont want smaller containers but I do realize than I'm one of those naturals that can usually get 3-4 uses out of 8oz deep conditioner depending on how good the product is

That's a very good point.

I regularly use alter egos hair mask, because its great for detangling and for 1000ml I only paid about 8 pounds for it last year September and I finished it only a few weeks ago.

well then just buy 2 when you purchase stuff.

if i'm looking for size i buy design essentials because they have lbs of conditioner available, some brands are trying to scale up and offer multiple sizes (brands that i know have large sizes for some products: taliah waajid, kinky curly, uncle funkys, alikay naturals, mane krush, curl prep).

i think what prevents brands from offering a lot of sizes is concerns about if it will sell. i see a lot of ppl say they want sample sizes so they can test it out before committing and i've seen a lot of ppl say they want pounds of product. if there is a specific brand you want this to be made available for then reach out to them and let them know you would like they to make 16 oz containers. sourcing and thoughts about if it would sell could be the reason why they haven't yet.

An 8oz styler can last me 6 to 8 months. 8 oz of oil can last me a full year (I have 4b/4c MBL hair).

I used to be heavy-handed until I realized that styling my hair soaking wet allows for better product distribution, hence less waste.

If we're talking conditioner, I do prefer bigger containers.

If it's less than 16oz I won't even bother w/ it.
Agree, unless that sh!t is 2-3 dollars it ain't worth it.

I noticed a lot of natural companies are doing this more and more. Lucky for me I was a product junkie and I have products for years to come, so I don't bother buying unless I see a good deal.

I agree that small bottles of product cost too much. But I find with large bottles, I'm over-conditioning my hair. I need discipline, lol.
