Ireland is a highlight religious catholic country too. The US, Australia, Chile, Brazil, Costa Rica, Agentina, and parts of the UAE are all pretty religious.

I like that you ignore the fact that the least happy list is mostly comprised of black/african countries, and other countries that the US has fµcked up. You have an agenda that prohibits you from thinking straight.

I have no agenda i was simply replying to those that are saying that theists are happier and atheists are depressed. fµck outta here with that agenda nonsense

I thought religion was on the decline not the rise. I think more people are leaving Christianity for paganism and new age spirituality (just my opinion) but yes it makes sense because atheist or non religious people use logic and critical thinking skills more.

This is true. My relative is a Muslim also believes in spirituality like yoga and meditation. He quit his job to write a book that didnt sell and make youtube videos no one watches. Hes on welfare. He judged me because I graduated college and looking for a higher paying job. Hes telling me money is evil and stop chasing money. I have a disable daughter and I have no family to help me. He doesnt even have a 401k or a pension

girl I’m like you being a mother and a college graduate. I hate my job and want to start a business but have enough sense not to leave my job without a backup plan.

Non religious and atheists are so obsessed with other people beliefs .

They always try Sooo damn hard to prove you how wrong you are to have your OWN beliefs.

I learned to not even attempt to have a conversation with those people. I let them talk and when they finish we move on to something els.

Goodness gracious, such HYPOCRISY.
We are not obsessed with your stupid beliefs except that we strongly object to your fictional nonsense being imposed on those who wish to NOT be included. Because of YOUR BELIEFS, our taxes service your religion tax exempt status to the tune of billions every year.

You say you don't want to have conversations with us yet HERE YOU ARE, you barged into the ATHEIST SANCTUARY SUB FORUM, spewing your judgement, just like a true Christian hypocrite.

Why don't you read what your Bible says about that massive PLANK IN YOUR EYE?

Leave your life and leave us alone.

Excuse me, YOU came into the Atheist/Agnostic sanctuary UNINVITED.

That is against the rules. If you have religious debate, you are supposed to take it to the Religious Debate Forum.

If all you want to do is arrogantly express your self-righteousness, there are twice as many religious safe forums.

Instead, you sabotage our spaces with your Christian hatred.

YOU leave us alone. You were already told this almost two years ago but your vile arrogance keeps imposing itself in this environment.

I wouldn’t trust these kinds of studies and I’m not sure why a belief or lack there of would make you more or less intelligent in general. I do question why atheist often talk about a god they don’t believe in, it seems like a waste of time.

The fact you don't know the reason why atheist discuss the negativity of god myth
kinda supports the OP.

Law enforcement people talk about crime - because it exist to be solved
Doctors talk about cancer - because it exists to be cured
Atheists talk about god - because it exists to be debunked.

I would not doubt it. I also recall a study saying that religious people tend to be happier and live longer than athiest.
The question is do I want to be smart or happy?

Well there is that famous saying "IGNORANCE IS BLISS"

and I am all for a blissful existence for children and for the elderly in their twilight years.

but for grown-ass decision makers in government and the corporate world? NO, they are not entitled to blissful ignorance so they can make poor decisions that affect other people's lives.

Believing in something does not mean you have nuts and bolts missing! Remember you cant prove something doesn’t exist you can only prove that something does exist. For all we know a lot in the Bible in true. Not every, if not most religious people don’t actually believe the earth is flat.
I can prove a million dollars cash does not exist in my underwear drawer.

And YOU can prove Jesus never existed by asking him to show up for breakfast.

This is a tiny sample but there fact anyone at all thinks the earth is flat is disturbing.

world-happiness-report-2.png

Now, the happiest countries have on thing in common: irreligion/secularism.

And what do the unhappiest countries have in common?

Exactly.

I live in the netherlands, a secular and higly irreligious country, ranked on the 5th place of happiest countries. More than half of the people here have no religion.

Of course there are other factors besides religion like wars and an effed up government but it really shows that people are happier in countries where there's a seperation of state and church.

The most and least happy countries:
(higher figures mean more happiness)

Denmark 7.5
Finland 7.5
Iceland 7.5
Norway 7.5
Switzerland 7.5
Netherlands 7.4
Australia 7.3
Canada 7.3
New Zealand 7.3
Sweden 7.3
Israel 7.2
Costa Rica 7.1
Austria 7.0
Germany 7.0
Ireland 7.0
United States 7.0

Yeah in my experience, atheists are always the angry bitter depressed types. Meanwhile the christians are clearly happier on average.

They are close to the border. Also, 6.6 doesn't represent the ones who are in dire straights.

I’d rather have a heart of gold and a little bit deficient upstairs. Knowledge can be obtained. A good heart cannot. God’s heart is my heart.

LMAO! Christians are so happy because The Bible Belt is #1 in access of gay and straight pδrn in the Bible Belt!

Teen pregnancy HUGE in the Bible Belt!

Christians are so happy to make corrupt Evangelical preachers obscenely rich by paying for a bridge to heaven that they will never see!

Christians are happy that they want to have xes with animals without going to prison for it!

  • 70 years ago, 95% of Americans identified as Christian.

  • In 2020, 65% of Americans identify as Christians.

  • Looks like the biggest Christian country in the world doesn't want to to be Christian.

Right, deficient "upstairs" means you need an imaginary friend in the sky. You're not supposed to be believing in Santa Claus once you've lost your primary teeth.

Rofl, so the majority of the US is still Christian ....keep crying about it uggo.

And here are the people you idolize lol:

A dying majority. 10% fall in the last 5 years is massive.

Nope, we don't idolize anyone. We have a healthy respect for logic and intelligent people.

But this is from experience. I know overly religious people that are not intelligent whatsoever. I have Christian friends who are not super religion but they are intelligent
Christians who are not super religious are usually those who have not read the Bible. Reading the Bible properly is the quickest exit from Christianity.

Yes, you idolize this man who assaulted a woman in an elevator, is a rape apologist, and a well known misogynist lol. Typical.

In fact, ALL of the prominent atheists are like this--

RICHARD DAWKINS
He stands by everything he has said — including comments that one form of rape or pedophilia is “worse” than another, and that a drunken woman who is raped might be responsible for her fate.

“I don’t take back anything that I’ve said,” Dawkins said from a shady spot in the leafy backyard of one of his Bay Area supporters.

Oh here's another one of your Atheist baes:

SAM HARRIS
Sam Harris: Arguably the progenitor of New Atheism, Harris was for me one of the more entertaining atheists. More recently, though, he has expended a prodigious amount of time and energy vigorously defending the scientific racism of Charles Murray. He believes that IQ is a good measure of intelligence.
He argued to Josh Zepps during a podcast interview not only that black people are less intelligent than white people, but that this is because of genetic evolution.

One more...

Lawrence Krauss
In 2018, though, he was dismissed from his job as director of the Origins Project after an investigation found that he had violated the xesual harassment policy of the university "by groping a woman's breast while on an ASU-funded trip in late 2016." He has also repeatedly and vigorously defended his onetime friend Jeffrey Epstein, the child xes trafficker, who "donated $250,000 to the Origins Project over a seven-year span."

Michael Shermer: The founding publisher of Skeptic magazine, which once published a favorable review of Milo Yiannopoulos' book "Dangerous" and a defense of child-rapist Jerry Sandusky,

Why is it that every single atheist is a misogynist and racist who defends child molestors??? LOL

Just because I agree with someone's attitude on certain issues, it does not mean I idolize them in any shape or form.

You're the one who worships a pedophile god.

you can be agnostic but not a true atheist..because to have a "thought of God is already a belief....."

* you know what I am going to bed

Just because the big fat man in a red suit had a name, it did not mean he actually comes down the chimney for a cookie and milk snack..

I can't honestly say that I am a Christian.

But I do believe in Jesus and the holy trinity.
If you had said you believe a historical man called Jesus preached about love and had a following, then fine... you can believe in Jesus the man without identifying as a Christian.

But once you say you believe in the "holy trinity",
i.e.
the father
the son
the holy spirit

that's entirely tried to Christianity.

But I also believe in science, and biology and logical reasoning.
Well, Christianity defies logic and reason.

If someone is sick go through all the technical channels and if that doesn't work pray for them. As well as go through the hospital and get help.
Except for fanatics* who believe entirely in prayer for healing, most Christians turn to medical science at the first instance.

*Just before last Christmas, a former close friend died because she put her faith in prayer rather than conventional medicine. She had become a rigid born-again-Christian.

God and the devil cam be real and so can science and technology.
It's does not have to be either or
We use science and technology every day.

We cannot possibly imagine life without science and technology.

People are increasingly embracing life without god and the devil since they are fictional, made-up characters to explain good and evil in life. Every children's story has good and evil characters in it.

I can some what see this overall. There are some dumb relgious people out here. There are tons of atheist that make theist look dumb in debates because their belief in God is based solely off emotions and not actually emotions and facts and knowledge.

But put the smartest of the smartest atheist vs the smartest of the smartest theist and it is no match at all

The theist. Specifically a christian apologeist.

But a atheist against a regualr sunday christian runs circles around the christian.

I don't know about that but I will watch the video when I get time. It depends on the topic what is being actually discussed and then if there is a God or not it lies in belief or disbelief. If we are dealing with archaeology then we are dealing with another topic and discussion and definitely if we are dealing with scientific information.
