A year and half later and all I want to know is did the main characters get picked up for any more roles after this mess? Did this movie kill their careers?

How many folks even remember the movie? I struggle watched it the very first airing and never saw it again. I knew it wasn't going to be much of anything to talk about, because how can you deal with THAT much trauma and drama in two damned hours? They'll work again... trust.

This right here, might have possibly killed multiple careers.

I finally watched it yesterday. The wigs were atrocious.

They need to redo the movie and make it into a mini series about the Debarge family as a whole and cover everything, the good, bad and ugly. Evan Ross should play El Debarge and Zendaya can play Bunny.

This was not a good biopic at all. The wigs and the funeral makeup were a BIG JOKE. The scenes were RUSHED and it really didn’t explained much about Bobby DeBarge and the DeBarge family’s successes and music. They mostly focus on Bobby’s drug abuse, the horrific abuse from their father Robert Sr. and DeBarges and the Jacksons’ relationships and that’s it. They didn’t show how Switch or DeBarge were formed as a group. The DeBarge family deserves a much better biopic film and even better mini-series. The actors who played Tommy, Randy, El, James and Chico DeBarge looked much older than Roshon Fegan who played Bobby DeBarge who was the oldest brother in the family. Roshon didn’t convinced me that he was the oldest brother of the family in the movie. Even the actor who played Jermaine Jackson looked way older than Roshon and really Jermaine is only two years older than Bobby.

This was BAD CASTING and a TERRIBLE MOVIE altogether.

What happened to the actor who played Bobby? I haven't seen him recently. I hope he didn't get blackballed after this movie. :ROFLMAO:

I finally saw this junt on Tubi. It's a laugh riot. I feel bad for writing this out because his actual story as well as that of his brothers and sister is heartbreaking. But, that movie is horrible. Just horrible.

One thing I will say is that good for Jermaine Jackson for getting Bobby away from Latoya. Bobby and Latoya in reality looked beautiful together. They looked like a dayum prom king and queen or something, just youthful and gorgeous. But, Latoya didn't need that poor Bobby in her life like that. I lowkey hope she hit it, though.

Why don't some folk understand our hair and beauty? Why it so? The actor who played Bobby looked like someone set his face with dayum baby powder before plopping a roadkill looking wig on top his head. Lawd! Who did the wigs? Did they wash them or dry them in a laundromat or something?

There's a story to be told about the Debarge family. It'll be like a modern day Greek Tragedy if anyone wants to take it on but this mess ain't it.

I'm just now watching, and this movie is raggedy AF.

The only thing I liked was the music!

Imagine being in your teens or 20s or so, and this being your FIRST introduction to DeBarge.

I can't, goddamn it!

This movie been on my damn mind for HOURS. I shouldn't have even watched.

The bad wigs and casting choices alone gonna have me tossing and turning all night.

I need to be in the damn bed but I'm up typing THIS sh!t.

They did Jermaine, Janet, Latoya, and especially Berry Gordy dirty as a mf.

When I realized that's who Big Boi was supposed to be portraying I screamed so loud my smallest dog ran in to see what was wrong with he mama.

This makes me appreciate the casting of the Jacksons movie from the 90s and the Clark Sisters movies among other musical biopics even more, because this wasn't it.

I mean, Big Boi?

Did he ever even act in anything other than Girlfriends?

And yes, I know I could look it up, but I'm not GOING TO on principle just because it's Big Boi!

Tubi has "the Bobby DeBarge movie" on their roster and "Unsung" but not all the seasons on there(they need to stop playing cause I barely watch them on YouTube because of copyright infringement).
My gripe with the movie is that they could have done a better job casting because Roshon was not it. I see better regular handsome biracial guys where I'm from and his speaking voice sounded like a smoker's voice Bobby nor Tommy spoke like that .

I prefer El's singing over bobby even though they sounded so much alike, and debarge made much better music than switch. The bunny lead songs alone>>>>, she sings like an Angel.
See I'm the opposite because I prefer>>>>>> Bobby's voice over El's. Bobby not only had a falsetto but his singing style was
Coloratura a elaborate ornamentation of a vocal melody, especially in operatic singing a soprano with a light agile voice specializing in coloratura.
