Just stumbled on a repost of this spread, which I saw years ago. So many of these outfits are still wearable today

High schooler Lenore Reday stopped traffic while wearing a bell-bottomed jump suit in Newport Beach, Calif., 1969.

A friend bought my daughter some Bellbottoms and they look so cute on her. I would have loved dressing up in the 70’s but that is way before my time. My mom was a teen and I still have the pics of her in bellbottoms.

A lot of this is my current summer fashion inspo! The hems and pant silhouettes of this era are some of my faves

Does anybody know how they went about undergarments for the very short dresses and skirts. Some are literally hitting the top of their thighs, which I like as a petite girl. Love this era of style so effortless.

I remember one of my friends who is a buyer for a large fashion retailer said some vintage styles would have matching shorts. so super-minis with shorts in similar colors or out of the same material. Some of the dresses would even come with them!

but also, pantyhose and tights were def more commonplace. and underwear was much fuller coverage. g-strings and thongs were used in strip clubs to get around obscenity laws lol, not worn by your everyday woman

Ahhh, that makes so much sense. Thank you. For a minute, I thought they were just going au natural. I'm so used to wearing thongs, I didn't even think of fuller coverage underwear. They should bring back mini dresses with shorts wouldn't have to worry about panties at all...at least I wouldn't.

I actually like the chandelier tights the girls are wearing under their dress in one of the images, very unique.

I mean, people still wear very similar hems these days! I'm a thong or cheeky wearer but when I wear a mini, I just wear something a bit more full-coverage lol. Also a tip from middle school days is just wearing mini-biker short type undergarments or Spanx under

Lol, yes so true. I guess, I meant the dresses of this era aren't as form fitting. Correct me if I'm wrong but more A line. Good tip for wearing the spanx. Personally, I like to be able to move around or have air passing through. I imagine because the hippie dresses aren't tight, the shorts underneath are a little more loose fitting as well.

The overall style of wear during the late 60s into the 70s seem to ooze ease and no effort.
