I saw some talk on the timeline about WFH and curious to know what your employer plans to do going forward as restrictions ease - full time WFH, back in office full time, or a hybrid?

Also, curious to know what everyone's preference is.

Preference is hybrid, current employer will be doing hybrid and I've been interviewing recently - all 10 anticipate either fully remote or hybrid once lockdown ends

WFH for the foreseeable, however we're likely to go back to hybrid as it was before Covid. We had the choice to work from home 2/3 days a week.

A hybrid from 2023 onwards but for the foreseeable future I think WFH is best for me.
The prospect of commuting again makes me wanna be sick sha

I wasn't really affected by the pandemic work-wise (I work in a hospital) so no change for me post-pandemic. Pre-pandemic I was always able to work one afternoon a week from home doing admin work, and this will continue.

We've got a hybrid. Early on in the first lockdown Senior management realised that they weren't actually allowing flexible working despite their policy. The vast majority of jobs can be done remotely.

I believe most of my sector is WFH until June and then a staggered return to work.

Hybrid methinks. My job is really trying to play it safe but it was very flexible pre pandemic anyway with most staff working remotely at least 1 day a week. I was in the office 5 days though.

I wonder if this will last though. It's easy to say everyone's happy working from home when the virus is still very much a thing. But if we ever get to a point where there's no threat, will employees slowly make everyone go back to normal?

Same! Yes, i too would like hybrid going forward although i know this would not be the case with my current employer... My own boss is in office seven days a week so you can imagine where his head is at lol.

I’ve started to look for another role too so it’s good to hear some companies will be adapting to this new working normal.

On the other hand, while most people say they are more productive wfh, NGL, i’ve noticed service from some companies/institutions i’ve interacted with become abysmal during this time which wasn’t the case previously.

I've been going in as I'm a key worker (London) but the rest of the org plans to bring in hybrid working, a collaboration hub as they work it. People will be expected to go in 2 or 3 days a week.

I'm still WFH and will probably be so for the foreseeable future. We changed a lot of the ways we work. People can come in and use the offices but there is a strict routine to adhere to when going back in.

I think they will force us back in at some point. Agree with the font who says thought of commuting is making me feel sick! Like actually insanity rushing everyday into work

Im wfh and have been for over a year now, which is crazy!
From all the noises I've heard, we will be adopting a hybrid model, depending on your own preference, as to how many days you're in office.
Tbf, my company have introduced a flexible furlough scheme for those that need it, which is pretty progressive so hopefully they'll fully adopt a hybrid style workplace, as things slowly get back to 'normal'

Only thing I wonder is how do people find office space at home especially with families with both parents working from home? Working from a dining table from uncomfortable chair is not exactly ideal..
Not all companies are even offering comfortable office home equipment

My company have opted for 3 days in and 2 days at home per week as of September.
I would perfer to be in 1 day a week or less. Commuting is long and expensive.

Hybrid from June but the office will have to maintain a maximum capacity so not all teams will be allowed in on the same days. Curious to see how it plays out. Was wfh 2x a week pre covid.

I’m side eyeing my company though as they’re already planning a summer party & Christmas party etc. I get trying to boost morale or whatever but we still need to be cautious imo.

I’m interviewing somewhere and they said they don’t plan on going back till January 2022 & their CEO doesn’t want to risk people getting sick. So its just interesting to see the different attitudes towards Covid.

Hybrid from July which I'm happy about. I've always wanted some WFH days but have never been offered it.

It makes sense when you think of how much time we dedicate to work because even relatively small tasks a big hassle. Some things are just easier to get done from or near your home.

Very different. I have a friend who has had to push back hard against returning to the office in MARCH. Her job wanted everyone back at the first sign of reopening even though they can do their jobs perfectly fine from home.

My workplace have been obsessed with having us all on site from as early as possible. It was funny as most of senior management were ”working remotely” themselves the whole time! We even had a new manager at one point whom we didn’t meet in the flesh for about 3 months, things became even more ironic when she reported me to HR for not being at work one day (I was very much on site), claiming it was an unauthorised absence…how would she know, as she wasn’t even there herself?!
