The last 6 Leo movies have been mediocre, pretty much everything after "Inception" has been aight, "Wolf Of Wallstreet" included.

The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman was way better than The Color Purple.

So much better. Book and movie.

Birth of a nation was the most depressing, soul wrenching movie I've ever watched. Kept me up at night, never again.

I may be the only person in the world that found these two movies enjoyable.

We don't need another slave movie.

'Glitter' didn't deserve the backlash it received, nor did the accompanying soundtrack album (which is incredibly underrated and overlooked.)

Edited There Afterwards: just received my first positive rep, heard so much about this in my lurking days. Thank you @Romey

Andrew had potential and I was super excited for his incarnation of Spiderman (he was AMAZING in Boy A) but those movies didn't do him (or the rest of the cast) justice at all.

My unpopular opinion: I didn't think Guardians of the Galaxy was that great. It was a cute movie, but I don't get the hype and obsession over it.

I liked Goodfellas more than I liked the Godfather. I thought the Godfather romanticized the mafia too much.

Imitation of Life(1920's version) is the best tragic mulatto movie of all time.
How to marry a millionaire is a horrible movie it proves that not all golden age Hollywood movies are good.

Anything by David O. Russell is overrated. With the way people were talking about SLP and Jennifer's performance, I was expecting some great stuff but it all fell so flat for me. Still don't think Jennifer deserved that Oscar either.

The last ten years has produced some of the worst motion pictures in the history of the industry. Technology notwithstanding, the quality of films in the area of direction and writing has devolved. In fact, 99.9 percent of them are not worth going to the cinema to see. Cable Television outshines the movie going experience by miles and has set the standard over the past decade.

Training Day was wack. (IMO, the only reason Denzel won an Oscar was due to the fact that the role he portrayed was outside of the usual characters he plays).

Interstellar and Gravity--meh. They weren't that great. IMO, 2001: A Space Odyssey is still the standard by which all sci-fi space-oriented films try to live up to, but most fail.

I hate Disney in general, but especially the movies.

I regularly watch Gone With The Wind, and it is a favorite of mine. I get that the scenic backdrop is the civil war, and slavery was alive and well, but it's the overall story that is of interest. Before Joanne the Scammer, there was Katie Scarlett O'Hara Hamilton Kennedy Butler's lying, scheming ass doing much dirt and still winning. LOL

The only good Hunger Games movie was the first one. It went downhill after that.

"lost in translation" directed by sofia coppola, was a white gaze mess and grossly overrated.

Jennifer lawrence can't act

Nate Parker CAN NOT ACT, he looked constipated and stiff in all his roles including "Beyond the lights", Gugu didn't deserved that

OMG yes. Denzel was so fine in TD, but it definitely was not Oscar worthy. At least not compared to other roles he has portrayed. It was an entertaining, but forgettable movie IMO.

Girl I made the mistake of saying that in front of some white folk and if looks could kill I'd be dead!!!:highly_amused: I just don't get why White America finds this girl charming

One of my favorite movies of all time even with the idolization of slavery and how they portrayed prissy. It truly is a guilty pleasure of mine. Vivien leigh made that movie

The Conjuring 1&2 and the movies that are connected with it SUCK!

Although I love both Halloween/Michael Myers >>>> Friday the 13th/Jason.

Dreamgirls > Sparkle.

Damn near all of Tyler Perry's movies are trash.

Friday is a classic, 2 is hilarious.

The only time a film has a good amount of black people is when its a slave movie or a 'ratchet' comedy and I hate it.

I'm still so salty that none of the three main Harry Potter characters were black or even ONE POC character of the 6 main in the TV show Friends.

Also imagine if the sisters in Frozen were black...now that's the kind of stuff I dream about. Instead of isolating black media I wish they'd at at least try to incorporate it.

Oscars are devaluating every year. If Sandra Bullock gets an Oscar for the blind side, they should go back in time and give Meryl Streep an additional 9 Oscars for Sophie's choice. Or better yet, they should just be honest and announce "ladies and gentlemen, this year all movies were such uninspired crap, we decided we won't be giving out an Oscar for best movie or best actor/actress. We do this out of respect for the Oscars that were well deserved"

I loved "Matrix Revolutions" people hate on it a lot but I felt they stayed consistent with the mythology and themes, the fight scenes were on point. Wardrobe/make up wise this movie is amazing, and I loved how they began to illustrate the importance of choice vs consequence/causality w/the Merovingian character. Love it lol.

1) The IMAX experience is overrated

2) Movies are way too long now and seem to be nothing more than regurgitations of over-done story-lines

3) Technology aside, Avatar really wasn't that great

4) Disney's animated movies after Mulan just plain suck

5) The Flash-dance dance scene causes 2nd hand embarrassment

6) Most actors today aren't worth their paychecks

7) Hallie Berry CAN act (just as long as it's not an action movie):arrogant:

8) Movies made for children should stop it with the tear-jerking (Looking at you UP, Big Dinosaur et al). If it's not based on a book there's no need to add the *gratuitous* trauma!

I never understood the hype with Titanic. I thought it was too long and it got boring at the end. It was sad at the end but I lost interest at that point. I think it was popular mostly because Leo was a heartthrob. I knew people who saw it multiple times in a row.

Agreed.

I was interested in American Hustle briefly, because I like Christian Bale and Amy Adams. But I never saw it.

Titanic is BORING and BAD.

The Hangover-style movies are getting old (premise: we're real adults with families and jobs who take a crazy trip and get waaasted!!!)

JLaw is a competent actress. Not as bad as people on here like to say, not as good as all her noms and awards suggest.

Most biopics are bad. (I did see I, Tonya last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.)
