Many of you have been incredibly supportive of my weight loss challenge, which can be found here (go to the link below to enter the challenge and possibly win 1 million Alleybux a week):

I appreciate y’all.

Many of you have also expressed interest in your own weight loss journeys in support of mine.

Well, to support you all too, I’ll be using this thread to give away an additional 1 million in Alleybux every Sunday for 8 weeks to any font who posts in here and manages to LOSE weight by the end of the week (Sunday by 6pm).

The font will be chosen at random for 8 weeks. This means I will possibly give away a million in my first challenge (see the rules in the link above), but definitely give away a million in this challenge each week.

Just comment below. Tell us a little bit about your weight loss journey, how much you’re trying to lose, why, your diet, workout routine, and how much you lose each Sunday at 6pm. Update us every Sunday, and I will choose a random winner each Sunday

I’m counting on you all to be honest in your weight loss. Just comment below and in the other thread if you want to enter that competition too.

Also, for the sake of keeping you engaged, you can win more than once in here.

Winners:
Week of 4/11: @MsTemilola22
Week of 4/18: @Bjxxxx
Week of 4/25: @Sillythrown
Week of 5/02: @KinkyCoily
Week of 5/09: @BabybirdHour
Week of 5/16: @Danni Archer
Week of 5/23: @poppyubanks
Week of 5/30: @Sillythrown

Ok I wanna do this because I really only have about 15lbs to lose and its simply because I lose weight and always stop at a certain point because it's "good enough" for me, but I wanna see this through finally to prove to myself im not incapable of doing so. My diet will simply consist of whole foods ( greens, meats, etc.) and I will go to the gym to lift weights and run on the treadmill.

Current weight 166

Hey y’all! I am 5’3 and starting at 180lbs I have literally gained 40lbs since may last year.
I am shocked. My ultimate goals is to lose this 40 lbs. I’m doing seafood and Whole Foods. No dairy. I’m only going for walks no gym. I do IF 16:8.

I want to do but I've been so unmotivated. I want to walk 2 miles a day, strengthen my muscles, drop 15lbs, and go back to intermittent fasting.

I’m rooting for all that participate. For my health, I gave up meat, sugar, alcohol and all processed foods. I have lost over 40 pounds in 4 months. I feel so much better.

Here!!

I'm currently down to 177lbs (I'm 5'5) so far. My goal is to lose 2lbs per week to get to 145-125lbs by the end of the year (just depends on how I feel and look once I get there)

Diet:
I'm mostly focused on eating a reduced carb diet (not keto, but 100 to 150 grams of carbs per day at most) I'm trying to not have a very strict diet but I try to avoid cheese, excess carbs, fried foods, etc. I only eat my meal prep everyday + 3-4 takeout meals per week.

Workouts: 4x per week but working to get to 5 or 6
Vinyasa Yoga 2x per week
HIIT Boxing 1x per week
Versa Climbing Class 1x per week

I'm in.

I want to lose 8 lbs. I gained a couple of lbs in the winter. Winter where I live is really cold, rough, long and unmotivating. Spring is finally upon us and I want to start taking power walks at least 4-5 times a week. For my diet, I will stop alcohol for 1 month. I should manage to reach my ideal goal within the next 6 weeks (the goal is to lose 1 to 1.5 lbs per week).

I’m currently 159lbs, at 5’ 10”. That doesn’t seem like much but my metabolism is slowing as I get older and gaining just a few more pounds will place me as overweight (according to BMI). I don’t have as much energy as I used to and I’m constantly feeling sluggish.

I am unable to go to the gym due to COVID and I’m falling off with my workout schedule, so I am counting calories like a madwoman and trying not to go over 1,500 since I’m not working it off.

I plan to lose at least 3lbs this week by increasing my fiber intake and minding my plate!

If I go up on the scale, the font gets 1 million alleybux.

Lol I should be posting pics of pizza and fried chicken, but I won’t do that!

A while ago, I lost 85 lbs in a bit over a year (about 1 - 2 lbs per week, so slow and steady) and I really want to help my fellow black women out:

1. The key is weight training. Weight training is the key to increasing metabolism and decreasing insulin resistance, therefore loosing weight. I know this article references diabetics but it’s still important to note that we do better loosing and maintaining with exercise routines based on resistance training: Resistance training differentially affects weight loss and glucose metabolism of White and African American patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus - PubMed

My nutritionist told me to try and get about 25-35 minutes of resistance training in 4/5 times a week.

2. Speak to a nutritionist and set logical and healthy caloric goals. Then stick to them. Use apps like My Fitness Pal to track.

3. Don’t overly restrict yourself with foods and give yourself cheat days. You don’t want to crash diet you want to make actionable and sustainable changes that can last for the rest of your life. I still eat cake, chocolate, fried foods - just for big occasions and in moderation. Everything in moderation.

Thank you for starting this challenge. I'm currently 206lbs trying to get down to 160. I've basically spent the past month transitioning off junk food and have starting intermittent fasting yesterday and am using the Zero app to track my hours. Also using MyFitnessPal to track calories. I'm going low sugar as well and will only get natural occurring sugar through fruit. I plan to work out at least 3 times a week for now. Not so much for weight loss but just to get my body moving.

I’ve picked up some pretty unhealthy habits the last year. My main goal is to cut down on Coke and increase my water intake. Since the gyms were closed my workout has greatly decreased so I need to get back into a daily workout routine. I would like to lose 2 or more pounds per week. Looking forward to taking this journey with you all.

We as in Black folks?

I'm in OP @DontWorryAboutAllThat . Need some extra motivation, even if it's internet points lol. I'm looking to recomp, which will mean weight loss and muscle training. I'm gonna be modest and aim for 1-2 lbs lost each week. I need to at the minimum track calories and be in a modest deficit, but physical activity is good for my mental so I need to not work such long hours and get a workout in. Hoping to add a treadmill or elliptical to my standing desk to guarantee some movement throughout the week.

I'm in! I want to lose 7-8 pounds this month and stay consistent with my low carb diet (50 net carbs per day) calorie intake (under 1500) and stay active everyday.

I wish we could pin threads to the top, so that we don't forget to weigh in. Best of luck ladies! xx

I had my salmon and did my starting weight weigh-in. Gonna do a lighter pasta dish over the weekend. But this salmon is banging (it always is) so I’m probably gonna make it again next week. Will also order an elliptical machine. I was trying to get a standing desk so I could get in cardio while I work long hours but the delivery man was an ass so I told him to return it.

more info than you asked for but yeah! Lol

I made chicken dumplings today around 11am, oatmeal in the morning and an apple.

. I do at home workout routines for 30 minutes each day and my daily 5 min high intensity workout this morning and this afternoon. I avoid all dairy and refined carbs after 12pm. And I stop eating around 4-5pm. Fast the rest of the day and begin my meals around 8-9 am in the morning.
Today I had a lot of work and school work to do so I missed my 45 min work out. I am so mad at myself. But I will pick up again tomorrow. Even with setbacks It’s important to still continue.

Nightime eating back on track! I had a spinach & berry smoothie for dinner, with a handful of raw pecans and I felt happy and satisfied!
