What’s the worst thing a nurse said to you?

It was my first time at that
medical office and the nurse came in first for whatever, i dont remember.
Bxtch attempted to have a full detailed convo on me being waxed, how nice “it” looked, how she was surprised that i was waxed.

i was around 24-25, very confused bc i am a very modest, prudish woman and wondering why a nurse is forcing an awkward, non-medical conversation like that. I never went back. I found a new medical office.

It wasn't me but a sibling who went in for a discounted health screening somewhere a few years back. I signed up for an appointment too but for the very next day. The office was very gossipy and thus they already felt uncomfortable. During her exam, a nurse said, "hey, is 7thSense your sister? She has an appointment here too." I was like wtf, and canceled that afternoon.

I don’t have a story (thankfully and hopefully never) but when I was in college my roommate and I were cool. She told me that she had gotten her first pap smear. Not because she was xesually active but because she kept having abdomel pain and heavy bleeding (I remember even calling our RA one time because she was on the floor in so much pain and I was just scared for her). When she came back she told me the nurse asked if she was xesually active and she told her no. She said the nurse yelled, “You’ve never had xes?” In such a loud and derogatory way. I felt so bad for her. I was like, why did the nurse have to even repeat her answer. Not everyone was bussin down him high school or their first year of college.

This isn’t super bad but a microaggression that caught me off guard. We were filling out a form for my newborn son and she asked us his race. We said black and Indian but if Indian isn’t an option then black and Asian. She said “all these new categories they have now are getting to be too much.” I’m black, my husband is Indian and our son is both. That’s not crazy or complicated.

It wasn't said to me, but about me. A car tboned my car as I was driving, so I ended up in the emergency room. Luckily I wasn't injured and only had a couple of scrapes.
I heard my nurse in the hallway talking to other nurses, and she had the audacity to make a comment about how she thought I was going to exaggerate my injuries so I can visit "percocet town".
Mind you I've never taken a prescription painkiller not even once in my life!!!! The nerve!

I scheduled an appointment with one doctor three months ahead of time and he cancelled on me ON the day of the appointment. The nurse told me I couldn’t see him. Periodt; no explanation given. I then scheduled an appointment with another doctor at the same clinic and had no issues.

I thought that was rude.

After I a csection the nurses kept asking me when I was going to walk around the unit. I was in pain. I heard one of them in the hallway saying it was because I was fat. I should have recorded it and sued!

I deal with this from the doctors every time I go for a pap smear and I tell them that I'm not xesually active and have not been for many years. Ugh

I remember my daughter was sick so I took her to the hospital and once they got her fever down I asked if she could eat when we got home. This hoe said whoa now let’s not go giving her fried chicken just yet. I reported that racist hoe so fast.

They need to have more respect for everyone’s personal decisions and mind the way they react to answers.

This 40-something year old white nurse asked me how many pregnancies I'd had, and I told her none. She looked up from her screen and said, "No, not how many babies, but how many pregnancies?" As if to say either I'm an idiot that didn't understand the question, OR as if to say I should stop lying about the abortion(s) I'd had, I guess. I was young and kind back then, and just repeated my answer, although I was offended. If that same thing were to happen now I'd have responded in a nice/nasty way and then reported that broad. I still think about her and get pissed every now and then. I guess she saw young and Black and thought ain't no way in hell she's never been pregnant. Rude heffa.

A long time ago I went to a planned parenthood & the nurse was asking me the health screening questions, I told her no to all. She then said in a very condescending tone, "oh I guess you're healthy all around huh?". Then asked if I needed condoms, I told her no because I was celibate, she gave me such an attitude & rolled her eyes.

I never went back to their facility, ended up finding a more professional health clinic.

Nurses are b!tches. They really are. They're fµck!ng assholes. They go around treating people like garbage then they have the nerve to get offended when the doctors are short, curt, or condescending to them. I work with them. I know. The nicest ones are often the very young ones who are fresh out of school.

I dealt with that with a relative, they falsely accuse me of being pregnant. I told them that it has a lot of good vitamins and minerals that would be more expensive to buy otherwise.

I go by the IU and ingredients more than the label. I bought elderly vitamin pills because it had a lot of good vitamins for the bones and the brain and a little lutein.

Ever since I turned 40, I get asked "do you still have periods?" I'm sorry, but that's a little insulting. Not all nurses ask this, but some do. It's like they think everybody goes through menopause in their late 30s. WTF? I'm on my period now! A better way to put the question would be "when was your last period?" Then a woman can say "last month" or "five years ago."

I was brought into the hospital by the ambulance, because I had major cramps that handicapped me and it felt like I was in labor (that’s how bad the cramps were).
The nurse told me "people are in the hospital to get treated when they re seriously ill, not because of some cramps".
I wanted to slap that b!tch so bad
