I have seen Carmen staring Dorothy Dandridge (I really enjoyed it) and Rebel Without A Cause

And post who are you favorite OH actors as well.
Pics would be helpful.

'Brief Encounter' is my fave classic film of all time but it's British. I'll watch anything with Gene Tierney, Cary Grant and Clark Gable. Hitchcock's 'Suspicion' and 'Rope'. I love film noirs. There is a film noir about a man who goes on vacation and he's poisoned and he goes on a mission to find out who poisoned him before he dies. I can't remember the name of the film but from start to finish, it was incredible.

eta: and if Black Orpheus counts...
that has to be one of my fave films of all times. I cry when I watch it lol.

Marlon was soooo handsome! I dont get the James Dean hype (looks wise) I've read about Rita but I've never seen any of her films, just dance clips on YT

If you are interested in watching some Rita Hayworth movies, I'd recommend Gilda which is her most famous and iconic role. You can find it on YouTube actually. Cover Girl is also really cute, it stars her and Gene Kelly and is a musical. The Lady From Shanghai, Down To Earth, and You Were Never Lovelier are also must sees for Rita fans. Blood and Sand is supposed to be a good movie too.

And I remember thinking that Brock Peters had the most gorgeous speaking voice. I felt about his voice the way that a lot of y'all feel about Benedict Cumberbatch's, lol.

Why do you feel like you're not supposed to like this movie, I can guess why, but if you like it, then you like it and that's fine. Personally, I love it.

I need to see "Cover Girl". I think I've only seen one of Rita's movies, and that was "Gilda". She was a stunning woman.

A Place in the Sun,

Warning not a feel good ending, watch with reading no spoilers prior.

This movie had me almost cussing at the tv. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but Montgomery Clift's character had me like this....

You are making me want to see this. I just went and googled it and it really sounds good. Now, I need to see if my local library has the dvd.

I've been meaning to check out Butterfield 8, also; I'm glad you mentioned it.

Butterfield 8 isn't really essential, its only good if you like trashy soap opera-ish film like "Valley of the dolls"
(another good one!)
