It's not true for all of us, but it is true for a good portion. It's also a poor way to determine skin tone and features. My dad is 69% West African, my mom is 83%, and I'm 74%. My father and I are still darker than my mother and have features that people would say are more "African" than hers. She has thinner lips and a really small nose
