People love Lamar but people are also pretty critical of the glaring flaws in his game and he's gotten a ton of flack for how badly his game gets exposed in the playoffs. No one makes excuses for him. Being able to admire yet openly critique black QBs is a normal part of following football. Unfortunately it seems as if no one is able to utter nary a single solitary critique of Russ without being branded a hater.
Not true, Madness. Russ has taken his share of criticism for holding the damn ball so long to make something happen when it wasn't there. He takes a sack and pushes them even farther behind the scrimmage line. That's my pet peeve with him. But some on here go too far in being critical of Russ; insulting his character and even his wife.

Criticism (both valid and non-valid) comes with the territory when you're a star QB. Look at how Mahomes got dragged after the Super Bowl this year vs all the praise he got after winning it last year. As a QB when the team wins you get all the praise and glory, when the team fails you get meme'd to death and dragged on social media.

There is also a chart that shows how many sacks Russell is responsible for. This year Russell had 56 sacks and he is responsible for 16 out of those sacks so even with those 16 attributed to him that still leaves 40 that his OL is responsible for. That would still be the highest in the NFL. I will see if I can find that chart also. Over his career Russell is only responsible for 26% of his sacks over his career.

People are actually blaming Russ? He's been beat to hell, and is

tired. That stupid trade of a pro bowl tackle for Jimmy Graham,

should have gotten either the Gm or Carroll fired.

I bet they'll take that Oline seriously this year lol

Seattle is about to fumble a HOF QB for Carroll’s ego. I wish the GM and ownership in Seattle were more honest about Carroll’s flaws as a coach as well.

as of rite now Wilson imo isn’t a hof qb yet, he’s close

I bet if Rodgers had said this the media response and the racist fans would have been different. All Russell said he was tired of being hit and sacked so much. He said he needs to better and they all need to better job with that. But the media and the racist fandoms have blown it up to the point of world war 3..

Rodgers spoke directly how his coach was trash and nobody said a thing

You already spoke about Mahomes (but let's include mom and fiancée/baby momma)

Put a black man in his place season has begun

Total Yards is a garbage stat without context. Those yards could have come in garbage time with no way of winning the game and defenses are in prevent.

Wins and losses and % stats and passer rating are better QB stats to rate QBs. Again, within context.

I would surmise 3/4 of those times he's holding the bll because the play call is a long play that takes time and/or the player is covered.

Is there a chart on how many times he's made plays on scrambles off of broken plays? Then getting a % of the times he's made plays off of holding the ball versus when he's gotten sacked off of holding the ball. THAT would be an interesting comparison.

If Russell threw a game-winning TD on that final play he would've gotten all the credit and the glory and would've been named Super Bowl MVP (which I think is why they called that play to begin with since they didn't want Marshawn getting MVP). I think it's only fair that he take some brunt of the blame for throwing the game-ending pick. Yes the defense takes their share of the blame but so does Russell.

Facts. Marshawn, Sherm and others have either explicity said or alluded to thing about Russell. He should've changed the play call but he wanted the MVP and Pete wanted it for him. Russell and Pete both destroyed that team.

I'm speculating based on what Sherm has said to the media and what Marshawn talked about in both his interviews with McAfee and Barnes? You Russell groupies are living in an alternate reality.

You are SPECULATING about why Pete called a play and 3rd yr QB Russell didn't audible out of it. What did Russ and Pete say to the media in their interviews? Did they echo the words of Richard and Marshawn?
You chose who you wanted to believe? That's reality.

But why did Russell need to call an audible when Marshawn was the one who was stopped at the 1 to begin with. Sherman definitely did not(still hasn't and he never liked Russell because he's not white) take responsibility for the defense going down to sh!t for the play to even happen. Marshawn still hasn't said his role that he got stopped at the 1. So I definitely do not take either of them at their word for what happened for that game. There's far more blame then what actually happened because it was easier to paint Russell the goofy two shoes robot as the fall guy for a dynasty that never was

The defense went to sh!t late in the game for the final 5 minutes. The offense went to sh!t for the final 19 minutes when they couldn't score a single point.

And lol@trying to blame Marshawn for getting tackled short of the goal line. He's the last person anyone should be blaming for that loss. Luckily Marshawn is a chill guy who doesn't lose his composure, he said all the right things and was very diplomatic in his interviews after that, when most players would've vented and thrown everyone under the bus.

LOL. Dallas was a real dynasty. Seattle got delusional after the first SB win. Pete, Russ and the gang wannabes defense just wasn't going to happen.

I mean the “gang wannabes” defense had already won them 1 championship. I guess they were expected to do the heavy lifting for the 2nd one too. Ah well.

The gang wanted to run the coach and the young QB. They wanted to dictate the direction of the team. Jimmy Johnson never would've stood for it. Seattle was headed for self destruction.

Never heard any complaints from those real storied defenses about doing the heavy lifting. They lived for it. ie. Chicago Bears m.o.m. Ravens, Giants, Purple People Eaters, Steel Curtains, my Dallas Doomsday

I dunno...I seem to recall JJ coaching some of the most thuggish, out of control Miami Hurricane teams who were full of gang members.

Also didn't JJ pretty much let Michael Irvin and the entire Cowboys offensive line party with strippers and hookers and do all the coke they wanted as long as they showed up on Sundays?

lol

JJ is no different from any other coach, he would've bent to the will of his best players, whether they were on the defensive side or offensive side of the ball

That's true. But I don't recall any of those defenses getting the finger pointed at them when they lost big games, either.

I don't see how you do it. I have all of them on ignore. The passing the buck for everyone on that team besides Russell is amusing.

They didn't get in his face because Jimmy was a competent coach who didn't call passing plays at the 2-yard line.

Girl...I hear you. Now if it was politics, religion or something of a serious nature then I might have to hit that button. LSA is lightweight.
