The less odor and moisture absorbing things in a bathroom, the better. I HATE toilet rugs and toilet seat covers. Pee magnet. I only have a shower/bath rug and no rug in a half bath. What is the purpose of it?

I use 100% cotton rugs only in the bathrooms so that I can wash them regularly.

Just be careful that your floors aren't too slippery with all cotton.

I hate the carpet style rugs/toilet seat covers too. I also hate layered shower curtains.

I use hotel style fabric only shower curtains.

I don't have anything in my bathroom that cannot be washed in the washing machine with hot water and bleach.

Luckily mine can be washed with bleach and I wash them every other week. I use non chlorine bleach though.

I am thinking of getting a bamboo bath mat to put in front of the tub bc I HATE touching the bath rug while my feet is wet. It is just gross to me.

Make sure this is actually non-slip. Nothing like getting out of the shower of bath, and suddenly being on a skateboard....

I used to use rugs, but since I moved I don't. The previous owners did some "remodeling" and the fools covered up any and all ventilation in the bathrooms. Rugs and towels don't dry so well, so I don't keep them in the bathroom after use.

Yeah I have furry rugs (toilet, sink, bathtub) in my bathroom and they definitely collect smells. I have a basket filled with potpourri in my bathroom and I can't smell it until I take the rugs out. I also hate any kind of covers on the toilet especially the seat. Yuck!

How often do you wash your rugs? Do you use your vent after you shower?

They covered up the vent? Why?

Thanks for looking out.

I believe the "authentic" mats from overseas do not include slip guards. But the newer, flatter ones I have seen have rubber grips surrounding them.

I have 1 small rug for getting out the shower. I throw it away and buy a new (cheap) one every so often. It’s just me my husband and our pets (not allowed in bathroom even for grooming) and we put the rug away when not in use.
I hate washing rugs and pillows. I just toss and buy new ones

I just washed them yesterday, probably twice a month. And no
You should run your vent after you shower for a least 20 mins. And I don’t know about you but I HATE leaving my bathroom door open but I had to get used to it for my bedroom because my bathroom smelled mildewy. So I leave it open after I shower and the morning and close it at night.

Same, all those rugs are just more things you have to wash regularly instead of just washing the floor. I have a bath mat and that's it.

We use new towels every shower and since the bath mats are 100% cotton, they get washed with the towels. No towels are hanging in the bathrooms.

Doesn't really matter...plus I live with 3 males. On top of that, theyre just ugly. Do you sit on your closed toilet seat for some reason?
I don’t have rugs on the lid, but I do have some underneath.

And no I don’t sit on closed seats nor is there urine on any of my rugs as I and everyone in my household has the decency to close before flushing..

I have a rug in front of each sink and a mat outside of the shower.

I like standing on it when I brush my teeth and wash my face.

Eta: my sinks aren't in the same area as my toilet tub or shower.

Also bathroom rug mat sets are outdated. Toilet lid covers and that mat in front of the toilet screams tacky. Sorry.

Hmm, I like this look. If you get one, I'd like to hear about it. I may look into these too, but I'm thinking won't excess water cumulate on your floor between the slats? I'm not trying to be cleaning the floor after every shower.

Also, your siggy cracked me up.

I've been trying to figure something out. I have the plastic inner lining for my tub. Is it possible to wash or should I invest in another type of liner ? I have a polyester-looking outer lining that I'm not too worried about though. Also, what type of rug material do you have ? I have the standard 'carpet' ones and wash those regularly.

I have one full bathroom in my apartment and use a rug in front of the sink and next to/in front of the toilet (it's a smallish bathroom). I cannot stand the toilet seat covers.

I don't see the point of having a rug in front of the toilet or on the seat itself. It makes my skin crawl.

There is no one that pees on the floor in my house so the ones in front of the toilet don’t get anything but my feet.

The one on the lid is a pee catcher how? I like it because it muffled the lid when I open and close it. I like to close my toilet lid before I flush. I have a rug in front of the sink downstairs to catch some of the water from washing hands just like I have one in front of the kitchen sink to catch water droplets. I have two in front of my sink because I have a double sink. I also like to walk around barefoot after I get out the shower and dry off naturally a little. I don’t like putting on slippers and they get all wet and slippery. I think it adds to the bathroom. It brings the decor in, especially if you are renting and your bathroom color doesn’t match the walls or cabinetry.

My sinks are not in the same area as the tub and shower. The toilet is in a closet as well.
My shower and toilet are in the same area and the tub and sinks are together in my bathroom and my guest bathroom upstairs is like a jack and Jill thing. They share the toilet and tub but each room has a sink area connected to their rooms and then the bathroom. The original builders/owners had carpet in the vanity areas and it was so tacky. I finally took it up.

My bath has everything in it. I have a large cotton rug that matches the curtain and the decorative towels. I like to have it because I don't like my feet touching the cold floor.

It gets washed weekly with the towels.

No odors, no plastic backing and it matches.

Y’all act like rugs can’t be cleaned

Everything in your bathroom is catching pee, if it ain’t the rug it’s the floor and don’t forget the walls!!

I know right?

I stand in front of the double sinks to brush my teeth and was my face. I like standing on a rug because the floor is cold. I don't have a heated for...yet.

My tub and shower are no where near my toilet or sinks.

I've never had a rug in the water closet though.
