Yep one of the best song of the 90's all genres .

Yuppp, british bands in the late 80s/early 90s really had the shoe gaze sub-genre on lock, I wish it stuck around for longer tbh
Bittersweet Symphony in particular is so quintessential though because my fellow british fonts know that its practically the theme song for any English sports team lmao. the violins are so iconic

Or is it me or does the Nirvana “come as you are” guitar riff sound eerily similar to eighties by killing joke?

Yep and Killing Joke were allegedly inspired by The Damned's Life Goes On. Listen:

Oh my god wow, my mind is honestly blown!

I guess that it’s normal in rock for certain riffs to be used by multiple artists??

Omg I had no idea that “hanging on the telephone” wasn’t originally by Blondie!

Nice list! What do you think of St. Vincent's new songs? I sort of miss the aesthetic of the last album but I'm impressed with what I've heard thus far. I hope I can see her live one day...

These are some of my favs from her:

This 4AD Session made me start stanning her lol. The Strange Mercy album is top tier.

Strange Mercy fans... in the flesh (well on LSA lmao).

Special Mention: Incubus, Cage the Elephant, Awolnation, Third Eye Blind, Rival Sons, Sleigh Bells, My Chemical Romance, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Live, Creed, Fuel, Puddle of Mudd, Seether, All American Rejects, Paramore, Flyleaf, Evanescence, A Perfect Circle, Screaming Trees.

I’m trying to listen to more classic rock these days so I can educate myself on some of the greats. So far, I like Led Zeppelin and David Bowie the most. If anyone is into classics, feel free to recommend some music

Thanks for this thread, OP!
Also, I see you listed Greta Van Fleet, they get a lot of hate for being seen as a Led Zeppelin tribute act.

I recommend you listen to Led Zeppelin.

Does anybody know this band and/or song? I found out about them last year. These songs have gotten me though this pandemic:

I'm so glad it's other black women that like rock music just like me. I always thought it was something wrong with that I didn't enjoy r&b and rap as much as everybody else.
