Never liked their products it always dried my hair out.Why do people not like Shea moisture anymore? I just noticed the brand gets trashed a lot, care to share your opinions?
It’s because when they tried to cross over to a non-black audience — the manner in which they did it rubbed their original black audience the wrong way.
They also changed many of their OG formulas to accommodate white customers, then these formulas didn’t work for many with type 4 hair anymore.
To add insult to injury...DOUBLE DOWN ON IT TOO. Like we people expressed concern, high key gaslighted the black women who made they lil empire.
- He changed his grandmother's formula when he sold to Bain. More water, more chemicals, less shea and natural ingredients
- He sold a multi-generational Black company to a white company
- He changed his advertising from Black models to white models.
- His animal-that-eats-from-trash-like comments about Black people and Black family values

Same. My hair hated it but my son's hair loved it before he grew it out.I didn’t like Shea moisture from the start, I bought into the hype when I first big chopped and was so disappointed.
Yeah, Their products are no where near the Black hair care section in the Target I go to.
Same with the lotion for me. Nothing hydrates these hands like their, Hemp Seed Lotion. Bit dude was a clown for those comments.I feel bad because I do like their body washes. I don't use any of their hair products anymore. If anyone could recommend some cool body washes, that'd be great!
What products would you recommend, I stayed with them because it’s so hard to find products that work for my hair. I am trying other products now but I use their shampoo and smoothie, they discontinue what I like every few months so am using some ransoms currently.changed formula
we have better products for us on the market now
