Live Through This is one of the best albums I ever heard to this day.
Alot of my white girl friends stanned Good Charlotte
So happy to see other Hole fans.
"Violet" was always my favorite song.
I just read the memoirs from Patty Schemel (drummer from Hole), and Carrie Brownstein (Sleater Kinney). I looove Alanis. Billie kinda bored me; I really tried.Lol I loved Hole and Courtney, I spent my youth on the kittyradio message boards. Those were good times.
I miss the 90s and the whole Riot Grrl movement, I miss smart women wrote their own music, played their own instruments, and didn't need to be sexy for men. I don't think there will ever be another Alanis Morissette, they're trying with Billie Ellish (who I like) but shes no where near as talented.
I was BIG into Riot Grrrl in the late 90s/early 2000. Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, Sleater Kinney, Excuse 17, Huggy Bear. I could go on...Lol I loved Hole and Courtney, I spent my youth on the kittyradio message boards. Those were good times.

This is my favorite SK:
Carrie's book was pretty good. I still need to read Debbie Harry's and Kim Gordon's autobiography.
If yes, how soon do you think it's gonna happen?
Man, this is why I miss so bad my high school and early college years. I was soo into Nu Metal back in the very late 90s and early 2000s. Emo rock was really my sh!t during 2004-2007 as well. Too bad after 2008 it started to decay badly.
I think Kings of Leon was the closest last thing we had when it comes to alternative/rock and by that time they weren't that many mainstream rock bands left. I miss rock.
Thanks! And yes, I already hated Thurston. And to think I uses to have a crush on that Shaggy from Scooby-Doo looking fool when I was a teenagerKim Gordon's autobiography is amazing, if you didn't already you'll hate Thurston. I also suggest Viv Albertine's autobiography called Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys. I didn't know much about The Slits but her book is amazing although it's about the 70s punk scene.
Always been a fan, I absolutely LOVE Korn(Jonathan Davis is forever my man lol), nu metal, grunge, 90s alternative, goth... As far as hitting the mainstream? Eh, it could happen, but I don't think at the same level as it did back then. Best believe the bands are still around making noise, although it may not reflect on the charts. I've been listening to Spiritbox, they're a new favorite of mine.
I see bits of it coming back but only in the “emo” “scene” way....I lived through that era and much preferred 90s grunge and alternative which was a little before my time but to me, bands like Nirvana, Hole, Smashing Pumpkins, etc stood the test of time better than the 00s emo.
Courtney Love has done a lot of crazy sh!t and had drug issues so people don’t like or respect her (along with the whole Killed Kurt thing that I just don’t believe), but she is a very good songwriter and a TRUE rockstar. Honestly I think the 90s is when white women made the best music, vs their corniness in other decades the whole smart angry white chick thing worked really well. Courtney, Shirley Manson from Garbage and Fiona Apple are the best examples of this
Well DOJA just killed with her Rock version of Say So and people are begging for an audio format. She Killed. She Did.
Yeah, I didn't notice how dead it was until I realized I am only listening to old rock music. I fµck!ng love Rock. So I would love for it to start being a thing again but everybody wants to sound like drake now LOL.
Kings of leon and don't forgot imagine dragons!
But I love Incubus, Bon Jovi, Sound garen, foo fighters, the killers, papa roach, pearl jam, temple of the dog, GNR, SLASH- I think GNR is actually making some new music ya'll. Slash did say he had been working with the rest of the members via zoom. So maybe they can restore it. If not, I know I can count on Slash to make an album of his own and to collab if not. He is always making music, him and tom morello just came out with a song actually
Occasionally a rock song does well on the charts, but it's always more like pop-infused alternate rock than pure rock.

Skin from Skunk Anansie and PJ Harvey were also good 90s female rock artists. And does anyone remember Kittie? Lol
I miss this era of music so much! Elementary (grunge and post punk, alt rock and early emo), junior high (nu metal and metal, indie), and high school (scene, post hardcore, emo) were fantastic. Even a few years post till about 2011 were amazing.
They're one of mine too, Ohms, their new release has some pretty killer tracks...I love nu metal. Deftones is my favorite band. But I don’t think rock is ever gonna be mainstream again unless it’s pop rock with more pop influences than rock. I could see Billie Eilish doing a “rock” album and it being mainstream or even someone like post Malone
Death Grips
Alt/hip hop? I saw them opening for Ministry (another favorite) they killed. I like bands who people can't get and don't fit into a category. People who don't like them probably are into sh!tty music so, you know.I looove death grips! But can we say they're rock lol?? I really really love their music, but everybody just says they're trash lol
I think they're just experimental
