[h=1]Woman arrested for killing dog to fake miscarriage[/h]
Lawrence County authorities said a woman is facing an animal cruelty charge after she killed and cut open a family dog to help fake a miscarriage.
Anita Dale Parker, 43, is charged with one count of animal cruelty.
Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell said Parker was having problems with her boyfriend, so she faked being pregnant. After several months of not showing signs and her boyfriend asking questions, Mitchell said Parker killed a chihuahua and used blood and tissue from the dog's body to fake having a miscarriage.
The chihuahua belonged to her boyfriend's daughter, Mitchell said.
Parker called 911 and was taken to a hospital, where Mitchell said doctors discovered she had never been pregnant. Her boyfriend then went home and found the chihuahua's body in a garbage can.
Parker's bond was set at $7,000.
