Literally

After seeing Octavia Butler's Journal where she literally wrote her life into existence, I would love to discuss that and possibly get more info on this process.

I was inspired after seeing this, being a writer myself, this is something I want to do. I tried vision boards but I think with my natural ability to write maybe this way would be more powerful.

Have any of you done this method?

What else do you think she did? (other than the obvious "work")

And I know there is a long thread on manifestation but I would like to discuss this separately

This is Octavia Butler's

I love what she says. I'm assuming everything has manifest? Awesome. I should try it. I have a 5-10 plan going into my 30's within the next couple years.

I do this and sometimes mind-mapping, and I am often SHOCKED when I look back on statements of declaration I wrote YEARS AGO (and forgot about) that have come true.

Whether you use a vision board, write it, mind-map, life-specific mantras & affirmations... they're all the same.

I've done it before and it works.

Michael Jackson did the same thing. I can't find the exact letter he wrote to himself declaring his affirmations before he recorded the "Thriller" album. Pretty much everything he wrote, came true.

Here is an excerpt of MJ's letter:
“MJ will be my new name. No more Michael Jackson. I want a whole new character, a whole new look. I should be a totally different person. People should never think of me as the kid who sang ‘ABC,’ ‘I Want You Back.’ I should be a new incredible actor, singer, dancer that will shock the world. I will do no interviews, I will be magic, I will be a perfectionist, a researcher, a trainer, a master. I will be better than every great actor roped in one. I must have the most incredible training system. To dig and dig and dig until I find. I will study and look back on the whole world of entertainment and perfect it. Take it steps further than where the greatest left off.”

I tried this I think. Just keeping a daily journal of things I want to manifest and writing it in present tense like I have it already and feeling genuinely happy about it.

It's annoying because it's hard to see things the way you want things to be when things are the way they are. Like sometimes I feel delusional until POOF whatever I wanted manifests then I'm like thanks [emoji120]🏾

Not going to lie it takes time. I started in January and I'm just now seeing good things and it's awesome.

This works for real. I only started a couple of months ago and I haven't been broke since. Money comes to me. My son is getting straight A's. Everything I write down is happening one by one and it's up to me to allow it in. I love how specific hers is. Mine is all over the place. I need so much! Like it's not even wants, it's needs...for my own sanity. LOA is the realest thing I've experienced. I don't even have time to be negative because good things keep falling out of the sky. And when it's FOR ME, it's FOR ME and nobody can take it away...even if their hatin asses wanted to.

Maybe that's why it didnt work?

Maybe there is a certain way to write. Like the examples with Octavia & MJ, they wrote out in full and descriptive.

Yeah about being descriptive...I described my son's dad to the t in my diary. Too bad I didn't write the word HUSBAND, LOYAL...and a host of other adjectives... le sigh.

I am going to try

I just want to make sure I do it right and that its what I want

I have a journal I write in as if I'm living the life I want now. So the entries go like, "Today I did this or that. My husband is so sweet. He did this or that for me. I noticed that my skin is nice and clear now and I'm so glad....."

Honestly it's been a couple months since I've made an entry. I think I'll do one now.

I think the key is to immerse yourself in the fantasy as if it really is happening or has happened. Only write the things you want and only do it if it's going to make you feel excited. If it feels like a chore, don't do it at that moment

It's basically a way of diagramming goals that is more intuitive for the person trying to reach them. They can be color coded, categorized, flow-chart style, and you can include pictures if that helps your brain to see them in a way that makes it more realistic for you.

Google "mind-mapping" and take a look at some of the images that pop up.

Here's one:

I do this all of the time. I would say 90% of the things I wrote down a year ago have manifested. The key for me is detaching from the outcome. I write stuff down and then I forget it about it. Sometimes the way it comes is not the way I envisioned it.

I should really try this, but I'm just too negative about it and I won't believe that it will happen for me even if I do write it down.

I did this for a specific job about a year ago and I got it. In the end, it wasn't a job I truly wanted money aside but I envisioned it; working there and everything and I got it. Now I am going for gold.

The manifestation thread made me write some things down concerning my career but I really like the way she did it regarding her writing b/c that too is my passion.

I have done it in the past regarding writing affirmations about myself when I felt down.

I think this is awesome!

I think being specific as possible is where I am learning. I easily said "I will have Position A at Comp A in USA Town,Us" I got what I asked for too. But I didn't add things like what the job would do for my career and what my salary would be. Or how my boss and co workers would treat me.

I wrote down my desires roughly 3-4 years ago and unfortunately not a single one manifested.

Why not? Because I was a negative mess around that time. My thoughts were constantly negative. I allowed a homeboys transient girlfriend to crash in my living room for two months and honestly I felt a negative entity in my place when she left. Like, there was someone or something watching me.

It took awhile for me to shake that energy and for the past year or so I have been manifesting my desires easily. Well almost easily.

I am still working on a certain guy.

Yes people can leave their negativity with you or what ever was with them can latch on to you

One thing that really worked for me as far as manifesting things is the Prosperity Game. Day 1 you have $1000, Day 2-$2000, Day 3 - $3000, etc. I was able to get a lot of my items even though I didn't do it for a full year. I also write before going to sleep or after waking up. I am constantly working towards my goals and make sure to stay receptive to the universe.

It's crazy to think that Octavia Butler felt the way we do, just wanting to make a better life for herself and her mother...and to affect "poor black youngsters" the way she has. This brings tears to my eyes. I'm realizing now that I need to show this to a few people I know...not on LSA tho LMAO.

Sure, everyday you get a certain amount of money to deposited in an imaginary bank account. You have to spend all of that money in that day. Day 1 you get a $1000 and you have to spend the $1000, Day 2 - $2000, Day 3 - $3000, etc. Example: Day 2: $1000- pay off car loan, $500-give to mom, $200- beats headphones, $300 -day at spa

I've been using writing to manifest things for decades and never really realized I was doing it. I just recently moved and have stopped writing for a couple of weeks and not only do I feel my Spiritual energy lagging, but my manifesting is sort of at a standstill.

Now that I have found all of my matching socks, I am going to go back to my nightly writing.

I also noticed that if I use writing/journaling to "b!tch & moan" those situations get worse- like amplified!!! The past few months, I stopped using my writing to vent and I noticed a dramatic improvement from September 2015 to present.

This is interesting, this is what I use my journal for. I also write down goals but I mostly write how I am feeling and what happened since I last wrote. I used it more to keep memories.

I think I will change that to being all about goals

I think that because I was focusing on the garbage in my life, it just drew in more garbage. Not that I'm Miss Mary Freaking Sunshine or suppressing bad situations/negative emotions, but I found that if I even hinted at my displeasure with something in my journal, it either persisted or worsened. My experiment with writing only positive things has really been paying off!

How weird that I came in here and saw this thread. I swear yall the universe has been giving me so many signs the past few months to begin manifesting. At this point the only thing stopping me is me. I have a beautiful and empty journal laying on my dresser and every day I think about writing in it for the purpose of manifestation. Now that I have a lot of free time, I'm going to start asap. Are there any tips that yall have? Nina Lovehall your story gives me so much inspiration. I will manifest in such a strong and powerful way as you do :happy 512x512:

This is a great thread. I've manifested quite a few things by writing and started writing daily again after reading this thread Sunday night. I am a day trader and I wrote down on Sunday night that I would be able to cash out of my trades this week and make a good amount of money. Well that happened this morning. The amount is greater than what I said I would receive in my journal. Needless to say, I had a great day. I will keep doing this in addition to praying, maintaining good karma, giving to others consistently, and meditating. Thanks.
