If you have the RevAir I recommend you watch some tips given by Ladosha Wright (she's a stylist and is partnered with RevAir).

Cliffs:
  • Black folks should only be on level 2 to 4(even 4c)
  • Don't move the tool in and out while drying the hair. Let the device do all the work because when you move the wand you are lifting the cuticle.
  • Cleanse your hair before using
  • Comb section after you RevAir it.
  • Don't use grease or heavy oil
  • You can use a leave in, cream, or serum if you don't want to use RevAir's products
  • Make sure your hair is wet, if a section has dried out you can mist it with water

I had mine on 6 too but after watching her work on other type 4's I'm gonna try it on 2. I'm just using it for trims and perm rod sets tho so you probably need the extra tension if you wear it straight.

I'd probably let her do my hair. Well, atleast until y'all post a video telling me otherwise.

I've used mine twice since I've gotten it and this thing is a miracle worker. I do not regret my purchase at all!

Same. I loved her explanation about how it automatically smooths down the cuticle whereas with a blow dryer you have to have your technique down pat in order to get a smooth finish.

I recently said in another thread that the demonstration posted below is the only video I saw that really impressed me and sold me on the RevAir. Most of the YouTuber results look like sh!t to me but I guess it’s a learning curve.

This is the sleekest I've ever seen. If I ever wanna wear it straight I know to use the higher setting.

I never straighten my hair just cause it’s too much work and if I want to stretch it out I use wave formers.

Plus I’m trying to reduce my clutter. I don’t got the space for that clunky but what seems like and amazing, machine.

I’m just gunna sit back and wait cause that price...especially for us that live outside the states :twitcy

I can't believe this is nothing more then a $300 vacuum cleaner with a fancy hose.

When I seen that girl use her vacuum cleaner as a knock off I was sold. Hell I could just buy a cheap ass vacuum at Walmart for $30 and call it a day!

That lady was right, my 4b hair got just as straight on #3 as it did on #6, only difference is my edges didn't hurt from getting sucked into oblivion and my hair as a whole was less crispy. Next time I need a trim I'm really gonna shake the table and try it on low heat!

Noah offence but I’m glad my hair is easily straightened and I don’t have to spend more than $50 on my little Remington blow dryers and flatirons.

I forgot all about this. I need to pull mine out. I've used it twice and each time just felt like it was too cumbersome. I'll give it another try.

Im really not seeing the hype with this lol.
So you've tried it? What's your hair type and how long did you have to use it for each section? i just placed my order. gotta wait til next month for them to ship it so in the mean time i'll be washing my hair 1x a week & twisting it up with blue magic lol

How straight does it get on level 6. I’m 4b/c / almost elbow length. I’m getting this in the hopes that I can stretch my hair each wash day before twisting without getting heat damage or jacking up my natural coils.
I usually crank that b!tch up to #7. I’ll try it lower next time

hey how straight does it get y’all hair at level 6/7?

I have elbow length type 4 (b/c <—one of them damn letters. I give up figuring out which) hair that’s shrinks so much that without heat my hair is barely at my ear. I wanted to be able to rock 2-strand twists at my actual length on the daily without heat damage.

As always, texture matters a bit more than curl diameter.

I have fine hair and the back of my hair is extremely fine. Even pulling it up repeatedly is enough to stretch out my curl pattern. I tried it on 6/7 when I first got it and just don’t need to use the higher setting. I get great results on 4/5.

Personally, a large part of why *I* got mine, is because I’m physically unable to blow dry my hair with a traditional dryer + brush. The Revlon brush is okay, this is zero strain on my hands, fast, and effective.

So you can only achieve a kinky straight type of texture with this thing or can you get a silk press type look with it?

To be fair, a blow dryer isn’t typically providing a silk press look... But, yes, it’s get the hair straight enough to achieve a nice flat iron.

I bought $500 inline skates today and it made me think and compare it to the revair. I see myself using the revair 1x/week or less. I’ll have fun with my roller skates while the revair I’ll be using as chore to complete a task.

needless to say, I’m still not ready to drop the money on it. But I still want it. Again, I’ll keep waiting. I like hearing about all your experiences though <3
