This is primarily for those who have oily skin because it is very lightweight! And doesn't leave your skin feeling OR LOOKING greasy and has ABSOLUTELY no white/gray cast! And it's unscented...Its just amazing. Today was my first time using this product and hands down it's the best sunscreen I've used by far!

Thanks OP! I'm very pick about sunscreen. The one sunscreen I did find that works great on black skin isn't sold in the US. So when I was abroad, I bought of a bunch of it back with me to the states.

and Hada Lobo Koi Gokujyun UV Gel

I use the second one. Lightweight, no cast. My only complaint is that it's not moisturizing enough for my oily combo skin. I usually use a bit of my first aid beauty moisturizer as a base then apply the spf on top.

No issues applying makeup/foundation on top. That said, I've worn foundation only a handful of times since I've had it lol.

Not much of a scent. Like I don't think there's added fragrance.

Does it irritate your eyes? For some reason, sun screens really bother my eyes to the point they water so much I can’t see.

This one has more product than the essence version:

I have oily skin and this kept me super matte in the middle of summer. Amazon is more expensive, but shipping is quicker. I order elsewhere though.

Not at all. It has no irritating fragrance. It's nothing like American sunscreens!

I use a couple of the Hada Lobo products but haven't tried the UV Gel. Is it good for oily skin? I have other hydrators that I use so moisturizing isn't a deal breaker with this product.

Biore Watery Essence is one of my favorite sunscreens that I've tried after getting it recommended here!!

Wasn't irritating

Didn't make me look greasy

Had a light fragrance

No white or purple caste on my dark skin

Too bad I had to order it off of Amazon, or else I would still be using it. I hate ordering stuff online because what if it gets lost? Stolen? Spoiled? Not on time? Nah, I like to just walk in a store, get what I need, walk out.

Texture wise the only comparable sunscreen that I've found in American markets was the Nuetrogena Hydro Boost Facial sunscreen SPF 50 (I think)--But if there was a Japanese based drug/skincare store in Orlando that sold those Biore sunscreens like Japan does, I would make the switch immediately.

Japanese and Korean skincare in general, are a step above all the rest. Especially their moisturizers:heart:

I've been using the Nivea for a while now. I love it.

I also use the Biore Watery Essence but honestly, they are very similar.

Both light, not greasy at all and work great under makeup.

There are some Asian products I find far superior to western ones, and they are usually much cheaper.

I'm excited to try asian sunscreens because i know tinosorb is better than avobenzone for UVA protection. Do these ones burn around the eyes at all?

Personally when I got a chance to use them, no! The one I used was VERY lightweight, and only burned if I literally put too much around my eyes or if I got too sweaty and it started to get into my eyes.

But other than that? My eyes loved it.

Does it whiten or clarify the skin? or none of the above, lol

My Japanese is bad, but I don't see the word white
白い or brightening
明るくする on the front so that's a good sign.

You can always check the ingredients for lightening agents.hydroquinone is a chemical lightener and Kojic acid, papaya and lemon are natural lighteners. Sometimes they sneak stuff in to the ingredients without warnings in the packaging

I've been using the Annesa (by Shiseido) sunscreens for some years now and they are great! No white cast and the silver has a silicone texture that works perfect as a primer by itself or complements my Innisfree no sebum primer well.

Really good stuff! And they have a Pokemon limited edition now. I got the Squirtle one, is super cute.

I've always wanted to try anessa because it's supposed to be the GOAT of Japanese sunscreens but was worried about white cast.

Um what is your skin tone if you don't mind me asking ?

The last thing I need is some sunscreen because I have bottles I haven't even opened yet but those Pokémon ones are calling my name

I’ve been using Skin Aqua for years and it’s the only thing that stops me from tanning. I’m not against tanning but for me, my skin gets a ton of hyperpigmentation and it’s not cute. My forehead and chin will be much darker

Just copped these from yesstyle. Cannot wait to try them. The nivea zero feeling was discontinued back in Feb (I hate Japanese product cycle). So I want to try the new protection and care gel.

The sunscut is supposed to be comparable to Anessa but a but cheaper, so I'll see. Praying for now white cast from that one

Black girl sunscreen doesn't leave a white cast or greasy feeling on the skin either

Ive been using asian sunscreens for awhile and im not too crazy about them.
Ive gotten the best results using a physical sunscreen like Devita (now discontinued) and Burnout
