1970-1990 isn't 11 years lmfao what the hell? That's 20 years oh damn.

1990-1970 = 20 years. Sounds like lies to me now.

Jay, if I'm alive now, and I was alive for 11 of the years between 1970 and 1990, what does that mean about when I was born? (Given that I never died and came back to life at any point).

1990 - 1970 isn't 11 years LOL!!! That's 20 years, this is basic maths. Where are you getting 11 years from?

Just own up for your lies now kid. Is okay if you've been caught out.

But how would you know when things went downhill and you were born in the early 90s lol?

I'm getting 11 years from the fact that that's how many years I was alive between 1970 and 1990.

And you spelled math as maths, which tells me you're British, so I think we're done here.

(Btw, I was born in 1979, so I was 11 years old in 1990, genius. I'm 41 going on 42).

You said people who are approaching 30 remember the mid 90s. People who are in their late 20s were born between 1991-1993. This upcoming year 1994 babies will be turning 27. Do you really think they remember the mid 90s?
Lmao in 96/97 I was in kindergarten you think I have no memory of that year?? Or the music was was out??

The mid 90s were pretty much over by late 1996. Also, there's a difference between having a few memories as a little kid, than actually experiencing that time period. I highly doubt you remember 1994 and if you don't you can't claim the mid 90s. Also, to claim an era you should be at least 11-24.

Hey 79 baby... Remember when Donna Summer was huge from 75-84? Oh wait you don't. You weren't alive then in the 70s and by 84 you were in diapers.

Makes sense why you were so defensive for 90s music now.

The thing I don't get is how you struggled so bad with what I was saying about being alive for 11 years between 1970 and 1990. I thought the British school system was supposed to be really good? What happened?

Here we go now, insulting my country. Go cry in the corner now and listen to your precious 90s music you poser.

Man you missed out on the peak of rock music, the peak of soul, reggae, the peak of MTV years. What historical moments did you witness? TLC creep? Lol.

I got to experience East Coast Hip Hop actually living on the East Coast of the US between 1994 and 1996 (the overall best period and time of Hip Hop anywhere in the world).

For the past several years, I’ve noticed older people lying and romanticizing the music industry of the past, especially the 90s era. Generally, the lying and romanticizing is about the level of talent and music content.

They’ll claim you couldn’t make it without talent but ignore the fact that some of the biggest acts of those eras could barely carry a tune. i.e. TLC, Jody Watley, and members of SWV not named Coko :sneaky:

They’ll talk shit about WAP but get amnesia when 2 Live Crew is brought up or when you start quoting Trina’s lyrics.

They’ll go on about the druggy lyrics of the past 3-4 years but are seemingly unaware that artists like Wu Tang, 3 6 Mafia, and Bone Thugz N Harmony were not shy about rapping about their coke, dust, and ecstasy use.

Stay woke! Don’t let them gaslight you! :disdain

And I’m 28, so don’t come for me.
These mothafuckers can’t tell me nothing. They smoked crack!!!

The oldest millennial is 38 so they can claim the 90s. I was commenting for the people acting like 90s music was the same as the music that’s out now.

Older millennials/ xennials can claim the 90s, but core millennials came of age during the 2000s and that's a fact. Anyone who was still in school during 9/11 is a true product of the 21st century.

Anyway, you're a foreigner and chaos agent, so you're getting muted. Cheery-o.

Hey... 1979 baby, remember how huge Marvin Gaye was? Oh wait... I almost forgot you weren't alive, you do know just because his last name was Gaye it doesn't mean he was gay right?

Ask your parents about him.

The younger generations idolize Britney Spears and think she's the greatest artist of all time. They are not thinking about Marvin Gaye.

I never claimed you didn't know music before your era. I am however sick of millennials and generation z claiming eras they were too young to understand. Especially, since millennials are the most obnoxious about it. The 90s nostalgia is overkill at this point.

I agree with Jay Crawford, that the 90s was the least original decade compared to the 60s - 80s. I like the early/mid 90s, but nothing groundbreaking happened during that time. The younger generations disrespect the 60s-80s all the time, but the 90s would have been nothing without those decades.

Uh if you grew up with black parents in the late 70's early 80's then you can appreciate those eras...because the music was everywhere and there was no escaping and and it was sweet sounding to the ears.

Not to mention rap music , sampled all the old soul and funk , so those old records were constantly back to the forefront.

music today is trash because the "artists" aren't creating art they are selling you a product.

Art lasts.

I wish all black people would respect/cherish the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Why disrespect any era where black r&b music was dominant. I miss those eras. Seriously, there are so many things that pit black people against each other. I hate that some are doing this with our beautiful decades of black music as well. I wish we could all get along.
