Did not find a similar link so here goes.

Curious, as my cable company has made it clear they are looking to get rid of carrying cable and just provide internet instead.

Anyone have any thoughts/experience?

Thank you in advance.

It's ok for the price. I tried it because it has local news and CNN. I cancelled because they don't carry A&E or TVOne.

Philo is $20. It has fewer channels but has more of the channels I want.

I have it.
Pros:
Great DVR

The ability to add people to with their own account so that it's tailored to each person.

Able to use it on different devices

They offer sports packages and other things like Starz

Cons:

This is a huge con especially if you're looking for certain channels. I think it's great if you're like me and like sports.

I never tried it, but I’m looking for a streaming service that have tvone. It seems like only cable offers that channel.

I agree with the others that it really depends on the channels that you would like to have. My parents had Direct and a lot of the local channels kept getting dropped. They couldn't watch the local news and daytime game shows/court shows they liked. My dad is also a sports fan, so YT TV works great for them, although it doesn't have all of the channels that I personally would want.

I use Philo like the first font mentioned because it provides mostly entertainment channels. I can find streams for sports or for specific shows when I want to watch something that's not on one of the available channels. My parents aren't tech-savvy so YT TV was the best option for them even though it's more expensive. It was about half of the cost of what they were paying and they like it.

I've had it since June 2020 and really like it. While I do miss a few channels that cable offered, the ones I gained like ID Channel, Court TV and the Sundance channel far outweigh the cons. I also love the DVR.

The only thing is they've already gone up on their price per month but even with the increase they're still cheaper than what I was paying with cable.

Thank you all for your posts/advice and information. It is so appreciated! With the current state of LSA, I had to figure out the work around since notifications aren't working. Thank you all again!

Bear with. How does YTTV provide a DVR? Is it virtual? I'm old school. I remember when cable first came out. Thank you in advance, luv! I so appreciate you all.

Yea, it is. The good thing is that you can dvr something and it lasts 9 months. I believe out of all the streaming options it's the longest time you can keep something in your library.

And the DVR is unlimited, so you don't have to worry about space running out! It also has pretty good on demand options.

You quoted me, but all the replies are what my answer would have been The unlimited part is great because I record the People's Court and its on two channels 5 days a week and that adds up quick.

I’m bumping this thread as I’m considering signing up for YTTV. Right now, I have Att Tv and ticked with it. There is a terrible lag between the picture and sound, so I’m ready to cancel.

if anyone cares to share the pros and cons of YTTV, I would greatly appreciate it.
